It's a good thing you brought this up, cause no one has ever discussed it until now.

Buy it, they work great, I had one for 6 years. Best one for the price.

Awesome, just informed the wife I will be spending about $160 lol. What about the elbow coming out of the TB? I see the aftermarket ones that are "smoother". Worth the $80? And thanks for the replies.

The Lingenfleter elbow is great, fits nice, good quality and the price can't be beat. A long time ago you could get 1LE intake elbows for like $44 but now they're like $80. I picked up a black plastic Trick Flow elbow instead from Summit. It does it's job so I can't really complain.

OP, you will love the Lingenfelter CAI, I have it on my 94 Z and its good and cheap. Me and my dad installed it in under an hour. You can feel it a little bit, well atleast I did but there is one thing though that you will like. When you keep the car in gear it will make this loud sucking sound at like 3.5-4K rpm and it sounds sooo beast. Also you can hear it when you start the car up if your car is quiet enough lol.

You may want to check to make sure your elbow is on the TB correctly. It's easy for them to get stuck on the lip of the TB. I've had my LPE CAI for 11 years and I've never heard what you describe.

The elbows arent a power adder, they just clean up the engine bay and many times the stock rubber ones rip. pick up an aluminum or hard plastic one to replace it. Looks a lot better-but no real performance gains.

Most of the aftermarket elbows are smaller than the stock/1le elbow so I would spend the money somewhere else.

^ I don't even understand how that would be possible when hooking up to the MAF...wouldn't it have to be the same size?

I don't believe there is any documentation anywhere that proves an actual HP/performance increase. IMO The only way you'd notice any real power gains/improvements is if yur factory rubber one was leaking or had rips/tears in it. Either way, it's still a nice piece to have.
