Oil Pressure Question
Normally when I would be at idle like at a light my oil pressure would be sitting anywhere near 20-40 well now it sits right under 60 and when I get on it the pressure rises and gets close to 80... I know having low oil pressure is bad but what does this mean? it use to be low but now its sitting high....
Also I found out why im smelling oil burning... under pressure my tranny dipstick pops up a bit so im guessing the fluid comes out and spits up on the valve cover causing it to smell... if someone can help me out on what to do it would be fantastic

no it doesnt... it has the rubber thing that expands but I dont think it works... I dont know if its the stick or something worse I tried replacing it with a stick my friend had but the indents wouldnt allow to go all the way in so im gonna buy a new one and see what happens... I just dont know my oil pressure is so high all of a sudden

Very unlikely to be caused by the filter. Fram have been known to have some quality issues and as such many opt not to run them. This does not cause pressure issues. What weight oil and type are you using? Have you changed recently? Oil pressure sensor might be faulty but not likely.
If anything, the standard tough guard fram is less restictive than many filters(one good example of a restrictive filter would be purolator pure one).. This filter has dense media and as such is more restrictive to oil flow. Still a very good filter.
The filter being plugged could cause this, but again not likely. Change the filter and see if there is a difference. Go with a regular wix or purolator if you want a less restrictive filter to compare against the Fram.

If the pressure change was noted after the filter change (and nothing else was touched), that is where it would seem logical to start, IMHO. Please use something other than Fram. You don't have to drain all the oil just to change the filter. Fill the new filter with oil before putting it on (you should always do this, anyway) and you won't have to add hardly any oil to bring it back up to full.
