Is that with mandrel bends or will he be putting "kink" bends in the pipes?

i think he did mention something about mandrel bends, it is a reputable exhaust shop so i believe it will be done very professional. is this something i should ask him before i get it done? i dont know a lot about exhaust, is the difference how easily it will flow? wrd1972 i love your exhaust i just dont wanna pay for it hah

if you can get mandrel do it. it just means the piping keeps its diameter through the turns.. unlike crush bend... like mine, 3" and turns of crush bend the pipe probably gets down to 2 1/2 on some turns. I needed my exhaust done and just went with their crush bends. i will probably measure and buy my own mandrel bends and have my friend replace the spots that need it. my exhaust was also very expensive for what i got, it was $600. this including piping only, 3" over the axle. i brough in my own cats and mufflers

$600 isnt too bad if they are going to use mandrel bends, go over the axle and provide mufflers/ x pipe.
I would call or drop in and confirm what exactly they are going to do for the money. Ask about what mufflers you can choose from, if he has any pics of the last setups hes done, etc.

Make sure it's mandrel bends......it's rare to find exhaust shops that do this because those machines are HIGH dollar! If it's just crushed bends.....you're getting ripped off.

If they're including the mufflers and x-pipe even w/ crush bends and 3" it's a bit high, but not toooooooo bad.

If mandrel, then it's pretty good.

My 3" duals cost me $100 and I supplied the mufflers. Dumped at the axle.

If this is with mandrel bends, where are you guys finding cheaper? If it was dumped then yeah it would be a bit overpriced but it seems pretty reasonable to me for going over the axle?

If its over the axle and with mandrel bend then the price seems to be spot on to me.

It ran me $400 to do my dumped 4", a lot of that cost was that they didn't have a mandrel bender, but had a ton of mandrel bends sitting on the shelf. So they used those a ton of welds to get the job done.

You would save a ton of money dumping your exhaust before the axle. Just buy a Summit xpipe and some bullet mufflers and be on your way

600 for mandrel bends is a steal, for crush bend it's about spot on esecially if it includes mufflers and an x pipe.

i would have to agree. i dont have a pipe bender but i buy mandrel bent pipes from summit when i build my exhausts. 600 sounds about right if it includes everything. labor would only cost $100-$150

He never did say if it was going to be mandrel bends or not. I assume they are not. As mentioned above, most exhaust shops don't carry a mandrel bender since their main focus is not horsepower.
