Like others have stated slicks and skinnies are going to make the biggest gains in ET.
Now with a M6 I would not expect the stock stamped steel torque arm to live long. A 6-speed car launches much more violent than a A4 automatic car. The other issue with a stock arm is also going to spring back after launching making the car more inconsistent.
We offer a full length style adjustable torque arm that when used in conjunction with our Torque arm relocation bracket(which I also recommend using being your car is a 6-speed) is very capable of single digit ET's.
The torque arm can be found HERE

Reinforcing the stock torque arm will help it out to an extent.
Just watch around the rear bolt holes where the torque arm mounts to the rearend this is where they typically fail.
Give me a call when you are interested in possibly making some new suspension upgrades
Oh yeah by the way ProStars FTW...

Factory six-speed torque arms are much beefier than those that came in automatic cars. They have more bracing and a mount for the V6 two-piece driveshaft carrier bearing. V6 cars and V8 M6 cars had the same torque arms I believe. I welded plates to double the thickness of the rear mounting holes, and then cut off the bearing mount when I converted from the M6 to the A4 (for more driveshaft clearance). The torque arm is pretty stout in my opinion (and very cheap). I pop the left front off the ground when I launch on slicks and stall up the converter, and the torque arm is still straight.
