That's dyno tuning. I'm sure these guys are more than well aware of what dyno tuning consists of. Regular tuning is done with a laptop/software or by mailorder thru PCMforless, trifecta, Madz28, ect.

800-1500 is WAY to much. im going to get mine dyno tuned(at a shop with a high recomindation level) for 375, and they offer to go to the track with you and get a little more percise with it(for an extra cost). i have a 383, cam, heads, nitrous, and so on. they are also going to tune out all the abs sensors/evap/air/tcs... this is on a dyno with a guy that has been doing it for about well since the lt1 came out. he tuned my friends camaro in 93 when he built it... sorry but you may want to go and get other quotes...
