It's real easy, just plug and play. You'll have to jack the car up and get underneath it.

I paid $16 for one off eBay, and it works fine.

This is just one of the skip shift eliminators out there (some are a bit cheaper). It's plug and play. It literally takes longer to jack the car up and get under it than it does to plug this in place. This is by far the best bang for your buck as far as aftermarket parts go.

Or you can just un-pin it at the PCM Connectors for free..

Black Pin 13- Skip Shift Control
Blue Pin 15- Skip Shift Gague Light Control

Gets rid of all the problems..

Will that still throw a code if you scan the PCM? When i swapped to m6, i never wired the skip shift. I got it tuned out of the PCM, but when I scan it, it still comes up.

I'm not sure about the code..it may turn the SES light on..I always thought if you unplugged the CAGS it turned the Shift Light on, and that is what everyone always complained about.

if you have skip shift tuned out via the sliders in the constants table, you still need to have the code erased. my car has no ac, no cc, no skip shift, no maf, etc. i have all the codes deleted from the pcm, so the computer can't throw an SES. Essentially, that particular component is completely erased from the pcm.

Does the skip shift wire from Speed Inc work on Autos? the paper telling you how to put it on only says on manual transmission why the way its describe makes it sound like it would go on an automatic.

Why would you need skip shift on an auto? Only the 6 speeds came with CAGS.

Haha I didn't know what it was for, and the way they described it on speed "Easy 5 minute install, eliminates annoying computer controlled 1st to 4th shift." so when it said computer controlled 1-4 shift I thought of my car (an auto) shifting from 1st to 4th when I'm lightly on the gas. lol guess I was a noob and bought it :/

That's understandable. GM thought they would improve economy by forcing their 6 speeds to shift from first to fourth under light acceleration. It's very annoying while driving. I believe the Corvettes and G8 GT's came with this as well.

Just put the one you bought up for sale!

Actually it's not during light acceleration..you have to be ABOVE a certian MPH and RPM for it to kick in and only allow you to go to 4th.

That's the way I read it in the Tuning Tables anyways..
