I thought people sold LT1s and got LS1s cuz they didn't know how to work on them .

Forget saying LS1 vs LT1 crap... Any F-body with a SBC can beat any SBC or GEN2 or GEN3.. And so on. Its all about how its setup and / or modded.
And i agree, 1st thing get a decent converter in there. With the 4:11's and a future H/C upgrade got 33-3400.
And remeber stockish LS1's live up top for the most part, So if youre mainly running around on the streets You should not have any problems taking down any stockish LS1's. Again, IMO street racing start from a stop and go to about an 1/8th mile, Usually anyways..
I kill LS1's in a small cube SBC with boost, stall, gears, and hooking.

You forgot the GEN IV engines. Or are they the "new LS1" and can't be beat?

Not much difference between a Gen III and a Gen IV..pretty much just the PCM/operating setup.

I can run a Gen IV Engine with my current PCM..a main difference is just a couple of relocated Sensors.

Hahah I was just giving him a hard time but as soon as I get 315 radials like him it really won't even be a race. After I got traction I blew right past him. I'm modding my car at the same pace he is so therefore its a lost cause and you're right it is Stock which makes it even more sad

The LT1 is a middle child, it can be a decent engine, but they are the worst to work on in my professional opinion, LOL.

DEATH TO THE OPTI!!!

it wouldn't be so bad to work on if they were in a larger/less cramped engine bay, and don't knock the opti! mine is over 15 years old w/ nearly 100k miles on it w/ no problems what so ever, what other distributor lasts that long?? the only bad thing about the opti is its location!
long live the opti!
