There are two temp sensors. Which one are you tapping into?

The other is on the driver's side head under the exhaust manifold.

That one goes to the computer. You need to leave it alone. You will only screw up the signal to the computer. The gauge temp sensor is in the driver's side head as post 4 says.

You can't "tap onto" those circuits. Another gauge must have it's own sensor and circuit. I thought you were going to use the head location for another gauge-not tap into the one that was there.

Why would you need to tap into the oil pressure wiring? Most aftermarket oil pressure sensors have their own sending unit and aren't compatible with the factory sender.

Tapping the O2 wiring will undoubtedly cause resistance issues which the PCM will likely pick up and set an SES light, messing with what would otherwise be accurate readings. If you're looking for an A/F gauge, the best thing to do is to add another O2 sensor bung/wiring (or two).

It is generally unwise to tap into most critical engine sensors used by the PCM (water pump sensor, O2s, etc.).

Alot of the Sensor Circuits are based off of resistance..you tap into it and you will mess with the Signal.

Just replace the 2 wire sensor on the waterpump for a 3 wire sensor.
The 3 wire still send a signal to the ECU and the third wire can make the after market gauge to work.

I have aftermarket gauge hooked up to the sensor on the left side cylinder head and the Factory ( Mazda in my case ) gauge hooked up to the new 3 wire sensor on the waterpump.

If you're trying to tap in to the sensor and use an aftermarket gauge it won't work you need to buy a sending unit for that gauge they are only about $15

If that's what's in that pic I can't see it..

The 3 wire sensor I bought bolted directly into the LT1 pump.
Standard part number TX66 for the sensor and S619 for the pigtail.
I don't know if they are from a LS1 tho.

the gauges came with the temp and oil pressure sending units. there is a port next to the oil filter that i can use for the new oil pressure unit, right. and for the temp is there a easy port to get to that i can use or would it be easier to go to a three wire sensor.

also for the air fuel gauge can i get any o2 sensor. so a single wire o2 will prolly be my best bet considering it will only be for the gauge.

Use the auxiliary oil pressure port directly above the oil filter.

You need a wide-band specific O2 sensor. A narrow band sensor (OEM replacement) won't work.

You could remove the factory coolant temp sending unit from the driver side cylinder head and use that port if you want.

The nylon line that comes with those oil pressure gauges can have a short life. Best to order some braided line and fittings from Summit.
As far as the temp gauge you can always buy a mechanical and tap into the passenger side cylinder head.

its an electrical oil pressure unit. so i just screw it in the port and wire it up right. same with the temp unit
