Thanks for the support guys.

This build was never meant to be a my car versus your car deal. We set out to show how fast a low buck, stock internals LT1 could really go. We built a Stock Eliminator car around it so that the kids would have a place to race that is every bit as challenging as the build.

If you want to compare performance of your "built" cars, at least choose the right car. Gump is a much better choice. I really like the fact that Mike (Mdacton) is calling me out. He is a pretty cool dude in person and has called me out on public forum. And Mike, you will have to wait your turn. Warren asked first!

(Not sure who's photo this is, so I hope it is OK to post it. If not, I will take it down)

not going to work like that. there is alot more to it.

Look at the pics of his car..... I bet it makes 300rwhp or less and leaves harder than alot of guys I have seen. The car works.

You can just add wt. he could fill it up with wt. car might go faster. His wt has been taken out in the right places and the car works.

More than we can say for you brian......

I could not agree more. Don't know why you all get so sensitive when it comes to discussing power to weight. It's amazing.

You know for a FACT if I put MY engine in YOUR car it would BE WAY WAY WAY WAY faster than what YOUR jalopy runs NOW, Mike and you KNOW it.

Thatd be cool if we raced engines, but we dont, we race cars, so its just a dumbass arguement.

You know who else builds lots of power and cant ET? FWD Turbo Hondas and Supras. Making XXX amount of power is just a dick measuring contest, if you want to go drag racing, these stupid arguements about would or could just dont work cause plain and simple it DIDNT AND DOESNT.

Sure now lets here about well I wanted it to have AC and a stock interior and to drive it to the track BLAH BLAH BLAH, I dont care, not my fault, still slow.

It was going 10.80s 122 with lead in the trunk to make weight, 100*+ outside and track temps over 130 with a 3500ft DA at the shootout.

I know you were joking. I too was having a little fun. I love being called out. It helps set goals. You really need to think about running the Shootout. It's more about a good time with a race attached!

what sgump run?
In "bracket mode" last weekend I ran 6.60 @ 101 with a 1.31 sixty foot time (3260 lbs). I'm still running the motor that was in the car in Kansas. I can get down to 2975 by removing ballast.

You left out those 29.5" tires that I had to run to be legal!

I wonder just what kind of "excuses" would be presented when discussing why a fast "pure stocker" is as quick as they are. Congrats on the accomplishment Daren. Hats off to you guys from this old Michigander.

The kids car is good for this season. I should have my new motor finished for Gump in the next few weeks. Then I will start on an LT4 for the Shootout. I'm going to use mostly old stuff that I have laying around. I hope that it has enough HP to make a good showing.

Mine traps 98 running 6.90s. It's all in how it's arranged!

Gizmo, nice numbers!

Oh I am so pumped!!!! I wish I had spare LT4 parts just laying around! You could probably show up with 2hp engine and do well.

Mine should be better with a manual trans and 4.30 gears and allot of better parts. Keep in mind this was a carbed 6.0 so we have the old disadvantage, because everyone knows carbs suck.

LOL

Well arent you king turd of **** mountain. Jesus Christ guys the guy came on here showing what a properly set up car can do. He didnt come on here saying my cars faster than yours. Anyone with a functional brain knows an LT1 aint gonna keep up mod to mod with your lil carb LS1 so thanks for reminding all us inferior LT1 guys, I am pretty sure Gizmo was just trying to show what you can run with a set up car with a very mild LT1 motor. And by the way a carbed 6.0 is definately not a disadvantage. I have seen so many LS1 cars pick up big by switching to a carb style intake due to the intake runners being shorter.
