brians car will run tens.... its makes the power to do it for sure.

He cant drive for one.....

He had been to the track once and it was a 80 mile one way trip with his wife and 2 kids driving the car with AC on....He drove like a granny and I think it ran 11.70 or so. If I was to drive it on a real tire I would get some numbers or bust up his little sissy car. I know who tuned the car and he makes plenty of HP no question.

driving ok and a real driver in a manual trans car is a big difference....

now the guy is a ***** I'll give you that......but his car is not set up to drag race.....he has big wheels, road race type suspension.....nothing is removed from the car at all. I realize he isnt trying to break any records.....if his motor was in gizmos car it would run 9's easy...... he easily makes the power to do it, if that car had a good trans and converter it will run 10.80 no problem right now. But thats isnt his cup of tea so oh well.....

He just likes cruisin around to go get ice cream cones after church.....

We talkin about SSRRR here? If so the best pass that car has made on slicks is an 11.90@120, it aint got the power to run in the 10's with any trans. Unless he drives it like a blind *** grandma. BTW I have seen SSRRR's latest track vid and I think there IS in fact a grandma driving it.

Guess he scared of breaking it?

he dont post everything on the net....
last vid you saw the rear main blew out and oiled the clutch.

He makes more rwhp than you do, like I said he has the power.....just not willing to do anything to the car to make it work. then on the other hand you have cars like gizmos with low HP that use every last drop they can in a good car......just goes to show, its not all about hp, alot more to it.

If thats the case he needs to get that pile fixed and come and run me then, ya think? And I make more than 463 to the wheels the LAST time it was running. Going for 500 to the wheels this round. Think I can get close 490+. But dynos are useless, I want a 10.20 timeslip.

I was not calling him out, he knows his car is quick, everyone in this thread knows it is quicker than mine (unless they never read the times lol). I was just stating the weight that is taken out of it kind of takes away from what it is.

What's sad is, your car with the 383 is only a second quicker than my bone stock 3390# turd that still has functioning AC, full interior, stock untouched heads, stock untouched throttle body, stock untouched cam, stock water pump, stock untouched rockers...... and the list of stock untouched stuff goes on and on..........Thanks I don''t feel quite so bad now.

One second is an eternity in drag racing. AKA 5-6 car lengths give or take.

I think that if you will go to the NHRA website, look up the class index under 1995 Camaro and look at the advertised shipping weight of 3289# and the factored horsepower, which has been driven way up past the factory rating of 275hp and then look at the D/S index (which if my understanding of the class our 4th gens fit into is correct) you will see the D/SA class index is 11.80/7.60 and the D/SA index is 11.85/7.60. then take a look at the rulebook and read the restrictions put on the motor. You might come away with a little better understanding and appreciation of just what it takes to put a car with those restrictions into the 11's, much less the 10's. (most all S/E cars can easily run 1 sec under the index) How many 3200# cars in this section can say they run the 11.80's index with no H/C/I swap? All the modded cars in this forum running in the 11's have ported heads, larger TB, roller rockers, EP............. and a lot of heads/cam cars still haven't gotten out of the 12's Heck man, S/E cars just this year got the OK to run roller rockers!

Some of you guys gotta understand that it's a LOT more than just pulling weight out of the car to get those numbers, ask Daren or cnorton to share some of their "secrets" with you. You'll be AMAZED at what they share with you.

This should be locked so people can at least read the good part of it without the last several pages of BULLSHIT that ANY good thread on ls1tech gets turned into.

There's about 4 people on here who need a month vacation and maybe they would think twice before starting **** in someone elses thread and turning it to ****.

If you guys would do more reading, talking, and listening to people Like Daren than you did arguing about whose redneck pile of **** is faster, the whole LT1 community as a whole might just be a little bit faster.

I got VERY bored with reading all the haters on this thread.

Did every one of them seem to forget that a Stock elim car MUST retain stock unmodified throttle body, Stock unported intake, and the cylinder heads have to Completly unported. They are allowed a valve job which does play a big part in making power in the correct location. they also can't run big compression, large bore, or stroke in the bottom half of the motor.

Add this to the fact Gizmo is using a factory stock cam shaft is just plain unreal. Alot of stock elim cars with LT1 don't run much faster than that and they have a much wilder cam( duration anyways).

Congrats on a great car with incredible results. I am a true Stock believer and fan.
