as hard as that thing is to get off and on iwouldnt think it would spin. on top of that a dropped my optispark this morning and broke a peice off of the cap. i was mad. i but it has new seals and wont leak from the front again for a good while.

When you go to put the hub back on, hopefully with the proper tool, look at the crank carefully. Over time, the hot engine oil has a tendency to "tattoo" a mark on the crank snout, where the slot of the hub would be in the correct position.
If you're worried about the hub turning on the crank, but don't want to spend the $$ for an aftermarket balancer, Golen Engine Service sells a machined replacement hub, that accepts the OE pulley, but has a key slot. IIRC, it's around $100-125. I recently purchased one, but haven't installed it yet.
