how much power are you looking for? Goals?

Roughly 3k for the rotating assembly. Another 750 ish for machine work.

Its hard to give you advice without knowing what your main objective is.

I'd think you would plan on spending 7k to 8k doing a stoker that is built to take the spray and make good power off the bottle. Depends on what a polished head means. most head guys are not going to want to touch something that has already been messed with. Should get you to the mid to high 10's on the bottle. maybe better if you loose a lot of weight on the car. After you get into there is a lot of other **** you are going to need that just no way around spending the money for it to last and not give you problems. Just did mine planning on about 5k being cheap and I spent 6K. Stroker with LE heads and cam.

IT depends man are you doing the work or not? My shortblock alone cost in the neighborhood of 5 g's. My heads only cost close to 4. You can make badass power with a stock set of heads with the right head porter( cough , cough, Lloyd Elliott, cough) have him custom spec you a cam. I would suggest 11:5:1 to 12:0:1 compression for pump gas with the right tuner ( cough , cough, Moe Bailey, cough)

Sorry got a cold
