Or you could cut and weld the valve cover
thats what i did it looks very trick! Im sure you can find a welder that can angle the end of the valve cover for alot less than these weird relcation brackets.

What would the Fbody accessory bracket do? More specifically, where would it relocate my my AC and ALT to?

I really want to get this thing back on the streets and have a little fun. I'm going to notch the alternator now, and worry about having custom brackets made at a later time. Thank you guys, I'll take a drummel to it this afternoon.

A vette alt will not fit on and F-body bracket. The alts are different. I dont know that any of the other parts would swap over and fit either. Just grind the damn thing. It took me maybe 20 min to do. just tape up the openings on the alt and grind that biotch. You will never be able to see it. Put the bottom bolt in the alt with the alt lined up on the braket and then pivot it to see exactly where you need to grind. Grind it down and check it as you go.

I had the a clearance issue when I moved to ProForm 1/4" taller covers on my 388. All if did was grind away the interference area on the alternator.

I first marked the area when the interference was with a magic marker, then removed the alternator and taped off all the holes/openings. Used my high speed grinder and creeped up on the clearance I needed - a little at a time - with repeated trial fits. BINGO!

All that was in early 2007 and no problem since.

I had an LT1 in an 83 Chevy Malibu Wagon (same G-body as your El Camino) and I brought a Speed & Performance accessory bracket kit for $1200. I mounts the alt and ac compressor high and to the outsides of the valve covers. I sold the car but I still have the brackets somewhere, pm me if you're interested.
