anyone using coated rod and main bearings, over standard got block apart the crank is trashed if bliok and main caps checks out yhinking about trying them.
I dont think there is any con, but it helps protect the surface of the bearing and also will let you know of any potential problems if you tear down your engine on a regular basis.
its only real advantage would be if you have a track only car running 0 oil pressure at the end of your run, the coating is sacrificial and saves you from scarring the crank or spinning a bearing.

Like Wicked mentioned, it's beneficial if you're a track-only car and constantly break down the motor. Your average street/strip car owner isn't going to bother inspecting the bearings on a regular basis. By the time you have an issue and you're down to the coating, it's going to be too late anyway, so save the $$$.
if you leave the line and slosh the oil to the back of the pan these will save you...or if you have a oiling problem and dont notice for a few seconds...
