Default Fuel rail help

I can't seem to get the fuel rail off. Do the injectors just pop out or is there a special way to get them out?

Yeah just unbolt the rails and they pop out. If they haven't ever been off before it might take some effort

Try working 2 injectors up at a time.

I use a hammer handle to pry up on the fuel. It always works for me!

It can get pretty stubborn as if you've never pulled it those injectors can get stuck. Get something to pry up on each side and work two at a time and then it will pop out pretty quick. Make sure you get all 4 bolts - LOL.

Since they've never been out, the o-rings are likely dry and brittle. Make sure they don't break off and fall down the injector boss.

Agree with the hammer handle. Make sure everything is disconnected from the rail (ie the fuel line at the back) and it should come out.

95% of the time the fuel lines don't need to be disconnected. The only thing that needs to come out to remove the fuel rail are the injector clips and four bolts (unless the OP needs the fuel rail completely removed from the vehicle).

I took a cresent wrench and pryed up each injector one at a time. Took some effort but came out pretty easy. I'm cleaning and painting the Intake manifold while its out so figured I would remove and polish the rail too. Does the intake manifold gasket kit come with new injector o-rings? Thought I read somewhere it did. Thanks for the info guys
