what is this module?

what is this module? i was at a show the other day and someone was there with a 96 T/A and he pointed out a module under my hood that he didn't have. any idea what it is? it's the module just in front of the radiator support right under the word "Ram" on the airbox
Here is a pic of a 1996 T/A engine bay without it.
and a 95 firehawk with it
so apparently it was removed after 95. any idea what it's for?

By the looks of it from that picture, it was removed (you can see the bolt holes in the picture). Perhaps the vehicle in that picture (and the one you saw at the show) either had the air bag system removed, OR they were in front-end crashes, and whoever fixed them never replaced the FDM.

could be, but i have seen 3 96 T/A's without that module counting the one i saw in person, the one above, and a 3rd one with a huge pic that i didn't post so i'd guess it was moved for 96.

From what I have found in the past they went to a different airbag/srs system in 96 that had only one sensor and I believe a different SRS computer as well. In pre 96 cars they had 3 sensors for the srs system.
