Actually, yes, $100. And he's been porting heads for decades. He ported heads for both my father's alcohol-injected big block dragsters. Fastest in his class.

Just because nobody does a decent job for cheap near you...doesn't mean old guys don't do a good job elsewhere.

I second this. Theres this old bugger here in town who can tune a holly 4 barrel double pump by ear, ports stock-> drag car heads, and doesnt charge 1000 bucks to have them run through a machine and tell you they flow this much, cuz they put a set through the same machine and they flowed said ammount. He did a set of LT1 heads for a guy around here for 400 bucks, and they flowed in the 275/280 intake range. Everyone on forums is some kinda fanboy. Everyone will scream AI or LE, and wont even have the product they push on their car.

I don't even know what to say. I guess I wasted my $2500 on AI heads.

*sad face*

from what I've seen LT1s don't respond as well to single pattern cams as dual pattern cams

don't pick a cam based on its idle clip you found on youtube, look for people with real results and experience

Lot's left to do, it needs gears BAD, already have some radials, waiting on new rear then she'll see the track!

Mad Z28 mail order tuned

That AI cam was on a rebuilt motor with bumped compression.... Don't expect that tq curve on a stock long block...

no big deal, when your doing the cam its not much more work or money to swap the HG's and obtain 11:1

yes, its the dcr that matters. roughly estimating here.. I run .029 gaskets(11:1scr) and the heads have been milled .010 so my scr should be somewhere around 11.2/11.3 but my dcr is around ~10.2:1

Tell us the #'s when you get it dyno'd if you hit 420whp, every lt1 owner in 2000 miles will flock like ducks.

That is some high DCR for a street car, what octane do you run?

no need. If that seems high(tho I've some where read 93 can handle 11.25dcr?) then maybe I calculated incorrectly. regardless 11:1 is AI's(and LE on his cams) recommend scr and being milled .010 is only another **** hair of static compression. cam in sig int closes @ 42.7ABDC(@.050) and I'm @ sea level if u want to calculate

eyeahh math wasn't my strong subject either lol
if anyone else wants to take a stab @ calculating my dcr all the other variables (#of cylinders(obviously), stroke, bore, cr length, & boost(0)) are all stock
