Yeah when I change to an EWP I'm just going to either put the stocker w/ msd cap/rotor back in and pray it lasts or buy a new "thepartsladi" opti and throw that sucker in there. Have heard too many issues with high RPM misses

I have a stock AC Delco opti from thepartsladi. I opened up the cap and added a dab of thread locker to the rotor screws before I put it in. Has lasted me 50k miles with 6500rpm shifts daily.

Glad to hear it. I've been busy doing alot of retrofit swaps. Just finished swapping a LS1 into my buddy's '91 RS, and another LS1 into my other buddy's '72 Camaro. Next project is a LS3 into a '67 Camaro.

After that is a LS3 swap into a '97 SS.

I agree with that statement all the way.

In my personal experience, alot of LS1 guys can be complete ******** about LT1's, maybe worse than the Ford fanboys.
I don't see what the big deal is, they run 13's on stock power alone.
Anyways, I drive it because I like the way it looks, and the low end power is perfect for the street, and it sounds alot beefier than an LS1 too. If I had wanted an LS1 I would have bought one. LT1 guys chose to be LT1 owners, that's the thing about us.
One of my friends with an LS1 very accurately described the LT1 as a modern SBC that is basically fuel injected, aside from the reverse cooling.

I'll be putting in a LT1/T56 in my '81 Z this summer so I'll be a LT1 and a LS1 owner.

I liek the LT1 Camaro look ALOT better than the LS1 Camaro look. The pointed nose looks so much more agressive than the opened one. The LS1 Camaro looks like a catfish!

I am a PROUD LT1 owner!

I have mixed feelings.

As far as looks go:

LS1 WS6 > LT1 SS > LS1 SS > LT1 WS6

I love the sound of the LT1, but I prefer the mileage and reliability of an LS1. I like how cheap and plentiful the LT1 is, but dont care for how limited the aftermarket is. At times the LT1 is a pain to work on (plugs and wires!), but isnt too bad.

I'm going to drive the LT1, and 2 LS1 SS's this weekend. Each have their perks about them.

I have enough for the LT1 out right or spend about 4-6k more and get a modified LS1. Both the SS have built motors. I'm starting up a new career thats going to be a pretty good salary. On a good weekend would make enough to pay it off.

I agree. LT1 WS6 (or one with a WS6 hood like mine ) is my favorite looking 4th gen, especially in black

I've considered doing the LS1 ws6 front end conversion but for the price I'd have to pay you might as well just get a 98-02 ws6.

I plan on sticking with the good ole' LT1. We'll see what the future holds for me as far as other toys
