he's only looking to spray a 200 shot guys. If he went custom he could bring the rings down some, and that would help, however with that 6" rod he might turn it into a bit of an oil burner. I definitely agree a new piston is in order however, unless he wants to take 10 cc out of those heads, if that's even possible....

**** i didnt see he edited the org post saying how much of a shot size he was going to run max..if its only 200 then he should be fine with the 1.12 ch on the piston as long as he stays on his tune ups..

So wouldnt it be cheaper and easier to just swap to a flat top piston. I would do that If I didnt have the money to swap things out like the OP said.

So I guess I will go with those pistons and .040" head gaskets and call it the day then correct.

SBC125030F05 4.03" 3.750 6.000 0.927 1.125 -5cc 406 11.1

I then can use my exact same setup with these above

Sorry we missed your definition of "big shot." I'm thinking you're going to be spraying a 300 or more. You'll be fine.

didnt look at the part numbers and the actual pistons or ring land thickness, but, i've milled dome pistons for guys to drop their compression.
