GM race shop block

I'd love to see what kind of price we could get for the blocks from gm. But before I would say I was in for one i'd have to see the price and time frame for delivery. My opinion on this is basically it can't be any higher priced than the lsx block for me to be interested. I'd love to have a street 427 from one of these, rather than go through the brain damage of swapping to an lsx or bbc to get more cubes.

It's kind of sad that they have the molds and ability to produce these all sitting in a warehouse somewhere .

But "Sad" and the General are almost becoming synonymous... holding back a thick LT block from the cash paying Aftermarket is no more sad than their having everything they need to build the new Z and not doing it... Killing Pontiac... Bringing the GTO brand back and ... well you saw it... and the list goes on for miles..
Ya wonder how that same company builds the ZR-1, CTS-V and of course the new Camaro... and otherwise can't get out of it's own way.
But it would be nice if someone could set a reliable ball-park on what one of these blocks would go for...

Give it time and GM will give it up.....They gave up the dies to the original 69's body, and now Dynacorn and Good mark are building full cars off of original dies. It'll happen eventually, it's just a matter of time and if someone has the coin....Personally I'd look into buying the casting rights from GM if I had the money, then you can have as many as you want forged. I digress, if I had the extra coin laying around I'd jump and call scoggin dickey, but I'm out of funds currently.

hmmm, would be nice! then you could really utilize a proper set of heads that fllow ! 750 hp at the flywheel i believe could be doable ! how cool would that be.

Willing to bet 800hp NA wouldn't be out of the question with enough coin...as many cubes as you can get, converted SB2.2s (fully hand ported), ported super vic, aftermarket computer, big solid roller, lots of rpms, etc.
We can dream, huh??

So is this for sale? I read on another board that he bought it and he is selling it.

Exactly! Your best bet is to call him and talk directly. Hard to place a cost on something like this. I know what he spent to get it but it will take more to get it. No I'm not gonna say what he got it for but will tell you it wasn't cheap by far. I think it will be an "open to offers" deal. I know there is a growing list of people that want to be considered to be buyers for it. Everyone interested would be better off calling him and speaking directly. If no one offers up an ideal price that commands attention I'm sure it will be on EGAY with a reserve price. I will tell you I wish I had the coin to pony up for it. I can however go drool over it and dream of what could be. This will be for someone wanting to go out and do a record for a Lt1 im sure. If anyone can make things happen to possibly make more of these blocks happen it would be all the parties looking to make it happen. Hopefully with the right names talking things can happen unlike the BS move by Dart by backing out of the project they announced would happen. While they say it wouldn't be profitable, they never should have said they were going to do it and back out with tail between their legs. Spoken before thinking! Bad deal!!! They would have sold a lot of them with a waiting list of "actual" units ready to be sold. To bad for the diehard underdog LT1 guys ready to pony up.

I agree. Look at how well the new 21* TF heads are doing. At 1st everyone was skeptic about it and now they are always on back order. Same goes for the Fab 9 new company making new product and doing very well. Imagine someone stepping up and being the 1st to make new lt1 blocks no doubt about it that it would do well in this market. I mean who would want to build a 383 when you could build a 427? Who would want to swap in an ls1 when you can build a 454 lt1? Might even find some swapping there ls1 to lt1 lol.
