Well the carb hat I WANTED wont fit.....The EV hat is too tall.
SO I ordered the Spectre hat thats 3.5 tall vs 4 for the EV hat....but DAMN that big EV hat looked WICKED on there!
And I am gonna have to HOPE it fits, I think it will when I notch the rear of the hood.

Well I bought an EV hat for it and its too tall, I want to keep my hood and intake setup I have now. I will have to notch the rear of the hood with either one.
I have the Spectre hat on the way now, its a 1/2 inch shorter but with a 4 inch inlet vs the 3.5 for the EV hat.
I wanted that EV hat, that thing looks wicked.

If you can't, have you thought about notching your hood and fiberglassing on one of those small 2" or so fake cowl scoop things like the ones Harwood make? You could mock it up to keep your intake setup and it shouldn't look too bad. That way you won't have to worry about messing with your intake setup, and it would be cheaper then buying a lid setup unless you and your friend swap hoods and intakes and you can do it for basically free.
Just tossing out ideas.

It will clear everywhere but in the rear, I already knew I was gonna have to knotch the rear of the hood. If you look at a hood like ours in the back there is 2.5 inches where it drops down to meet the hood seal at the rear. I can notch that, but even if I do it will be VERY CLOSE.
The throttle deal is a no go, when the cable pulls the arm it swings down and around on the bottom to pull the rear flaps open. The fuel rail was notched a little and has minimal clearance to swing.

As long as it fits. It all depends on how clean you want it. My lid conversion was a pain. The hood closes but I push down on the lid a tad (real tough to close), but it works lol. Different situation, same concept. Unless you're saying that the cable arm won't swing all the way with the hood closed, then that could be an issue.. Hopefully it all works out, if not, maybe a new hood is in order. Good luck!
