Default EGR Blockoff

I have all the blockoff plates on and tightened. I have a question concerning the block off plate on the longtube that would connect to the EGR tube. There is a gasket that came with my Pacesetter headers that I had on there and the bolt on the blockoff plate came loose and burned the gasket up pretty bad.

What I'm wondering is if I can run the blockoff plate on the longtube without a gasket and it will seal fine or if I will need a new gasket. Where could I find a gasket like that?

I would use a gasket on it. Exhaust leaks aren't fun, especially one before the O2 sensor.

I suppose you wouldn't know where I could find such a small gasket? It came with the longtubes.

You can go to any parts store and buy a sheet of gasket material and make your own, or use RTV.

What would you do, make your own or use RTV? Which would seal better in your opinion?

It almost definitely won't seal up right without a gasket of some kind. Some high temp RTV should work just fine.

Bahahaha, same here dude. Seems like I can never find one when I need it and end up getting another one to add to the collection.

Makes a little more sense but still sounds like a mess and a half.
