Default Misterious Oil leak...Update please help.

My car has a oil leak that seems to be getting progressively worse. I tried changing the valve covers, no luck.. So i did the timing cover and all the seals, no luck. Then tried the oil pan , no luck.. Where else could it be coming from? The whole engine bay is covered in oil and i cant seem to pinpoint the leak. There is oil all over everything so it is tough to tell.. When i run it at wot it must be getting on some part of the exhaust because it starts blowing smoke all over the place. Do these cars have a oil cooler? Could it be coming from that maybe? What should i try next? It seems that most of the oil is on the passenger side of the engine. Any ideas would be helpful.

Check the oil cap and the rubber grommet on the other valve cover. Oil was being pushed through the grommet on mine. Also Mine has oil slightly coming through the valve cover bolts.

Just look to see if you have an oilcooler as there will be an adaptor the filter mounts to with lines running to the radiator. Have you checked your PCV valve as it could be stuck and you have some blowby coming out of your PCV valve on the side of the manifold on the driverside. Also, check the vent tube from the passide going to the trottlebody and make sure it's seated well in the valve cover and the TB.

Well i don't have a oil cooler. I have recently changed the pcv valve. I guess i need to look into the intake gasket. Spelling is not one of my strong points. I would appreciate you help, not you irrelevant criticism.

Is there a certain area of the engine where the oil seems heavier? Front, back, driver side, passenger side?

You may want to reach around the backside of the intake and feel if you have fresh oil on the backside of your china wall. If you do either your intake is leaking or your oil sender is cracked and leaking.

Just reread your initial post. I can't really think of anything on the passenger side except for fill tube on your valve cover. Check that and see if it's tight....

Ok well yesterday i removed the intake, valve covers, and tb, replaced the intake manifold gaskets throttle body gasket, and injector seals. Still leaking oil all over the place. So this morning i removed the dust cover over the flex plate and had my girlfriend hold the car at about 2500 rpm, and saw that the flex plate was throwing oil all over. This leads me to suspect the dreaded rear main seal is toast.. So how difficult is it to replace? Should i just try and remove the trans and go at it that way? How long will it take to change it out? I don't have a lift of any kind, just a jack and two jack stands..

well you would have to remove the trans to get ot it and them make sure you drain all the oil, get a crane to lift engine as high as you can get it up and the rest should be easy

Did you check the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the intake? Mine worked itself loose and started to leak.

check and make sure the rubber hose going to the pcv valve is in good condition and not ca-lapsing under vacuum while the engine is running... you are gonna have to clean off any areas with oil or dirt etc... you can buy some dye for a/c systems and put some in with your oil and look to find the leak that way, a black light and uv glasses help.

if you have oil on the electric connector when removed then that is another sign that it is leaking
