You could, just have to fix the bolt pattern or use SBC heads.
Edit: I don't think they make a EFI version yet?

The hood has a lot of clearance at the back. It's when you come forward off of the single plane that the stock hood presents some problems.

Regardless, I am trying to do it right the first time rather than have to redo it 3 times and blow my already bloated budget.
yep it clears just fine.......personally i like the mono blades with a good elbow........however the 4150's do work well also.......4150's will drive a bit better due to the easier metering of the smaller butterflies but i do like the monoblade design better like i ran on my car............id run a smaller manifold than i did on mine on your car......i can spec u up a setup if youd like dave.......just let me know when you're ready....

Is there enough room on the LT1 heads to match the bolt pattern on this intake?

The SLP Firehawk hood might give me enough room to pull it off nicely.

Matt, as much as you're a traitor bitch for joining the dark side, it looks totally awesome! I wish an intake like that would fit under my hood. I'm totally going to have to go lower profile that's for damn sure.

Ok, lets get down to power #'s. What are we looking to gain by going single plane? A flatter torque curve? 20-30+ hp?

I'm lookin for an excuse to spend more money here fellas.

Here's mine mocked up in the car. It fits under the stock Z28 hood! Victor E, 1" carb spacer, and the elbow is from 6160.com, but he's not making them anymore.

Damn that intake is nice! And the bend in that elbow isn't a restriction?

It all depends on the engine.

If you're not spinning over 7K then don't waste your money.

I disagree, average power and tq is what your after, not a peak number above 7k.

He is stock cubes with a baby cam, a ported stock intake is way more then enough air for him. He likely won't see a worthwhile gain with a single plane swap unless he is spinning very high rpms, or spraying a lot and needs the more even cylinder distribution.

If it was a big cammed stroker that would be a different story.

I don't how much of a restriction it will be. It doesn't matter as much in my case, I'm boosted anyway.

I am running a 23x/24x 64x/64x cam with a turbo and spinning to ~7400 so the single plane should do nicely on mine...

I have always heard that the elbow is a restriction but have not seen a lot of slips or dynos to prove it..

Finally got mine in the car and it clears the stock WS6 hood and cowl no Prob. Very interesting on the fuel line set ups. So many ways to make it work, still not sure why one is better than the other. Looks like most guys just looped the front or rear rails.
