chris is an awesome guy over there. I have no complaints with my converter. I had troubles locking it up on the dyno so it killed my numbers, But its a solid performer at the track.

I agree that will be more than likely the case especially during summer but Im hoping for more by the end of the yr. I dont plan on just hopping in it after the swap and running 10s NA but it should be fairly close. Also keep in mind the 200 shot will be with a Nano which is generally good for a couple tenths and 4-5mph over a standard kit with a bottle heater, so much better it requires up to 25% more fuel to compensate for the added powa.
Guess Ill just have to get it done to find out for sure!!

The car still has a lot of weight to take out still such as the, bumper supports, airbags, drag brakes and spindles some extra crap under the car possibly some race seats etc. Shooting for a 3200# race weight or less. Car was 3415 last yr at the shootout with barely anything removed.

Well Im at the top of page 3 now I'll read the rest later (Have to get tp work now)... But I have a question on this.
I do not know **** about transmissions/torque converters... So here goes my uncle has a "heavy duty" Short tail TH400 that he will give me, it came off a van or something but whatever. What will I have to do to get this to fit on my LT1, or will this fit on my LT1 so I can send it to get rebuilt.... Also interested in a torque converter that wont break the bank... This will be behind a front mount boosted setup with 12+ #'s of boost.

It will bolt right up to the motor, but if your a A4 youll need m6 programing a new DS and Th400 cross member from UMI, BMR etc.. If you swap to a 9" tail housing you can keep your current DS. Still researching converters. Yank, Vig, Circle D **** there's a million of them to choose from.

well I'd recommend a Coan, but I was looking on ebay, and there's a company named CONE that makes the exact same converters for cheap, I'd recommend them

Bolt-together's are awesome, just spensive >.< Trans spec makes an 8in bolt together for a little over a grand if I remember correctly. Mike, give them a call. I guarantee they will find something that's perfect for your setup and you will be happy as hell

Get the welded race converter. The boss says Chance should have a welded for about $1,200.

There's also PTC, who has a welded race converter for around $800.

Give me a shout when you're ready to get one, we'll get ya set up.
