Exclamation No Power With My Car From A Roll Or A Stop

I have a 94 Camaro Z28 with all my mods in my signature. I've finally fixed my problem with the backfiring at high RPMs by changing all my spark plugs. I thought I've finally had it working but guess not When I take off WOT from a stop or from a roll it seems like there is no power. The RPMS go up and the car does move it just seems like it dosent pull hard enough. So to test this problem out I put the car in 1st and set the stall to about 3000 and floored it...the car didn't even spin a tire. I cant get it to spin tires from a stop. It just seems like its lacking power. Does anyone have an idea whats going on? Maybe its my stall not working?engine? trans? rear end? Any help would be great.

Oh and btw I raced a friend of mine last night who has a stock 94 Z28 from a roll and every time he just pulled me and left me behind like i was standing still!!

if im not mistaken, unless you have modified your shifter, it only goes into 2nd gear.. so when you pull the shifter back your actually in 2nd gear... you have to remove a small piece of plastic on the gate so it goes into 1st gear..

stall could be slipping, tranny could be slipping... check fluid in tranny? is tranny getting hot?

Tell us more about your car.

It's not always the opti.
Some cars you can get it into 1st gear, depends on your rear gears/year of car I think.

The thing should blow the tires off with your mods.

I have no idea what could have caused this to start happening. I still have the stock shifter in there and I can put it in 1st. It has not been dyno tune. The one cat i have has been gutted. How can you tell if the stall is slipping? Could something in my rear end be dragging making my car loose power?

the only thing your rear could be is broken if that were the case. it would be either your torque converter or your transmission

the converter would have to be removed and taken to a converter shop to be checked..

how is the transmission shifting? is it seeming sluggish?

I put in a transgo shift kit so it's still shifting hard and on time.

have you checked the tranny fluid to see if its burnt?
i would imagine your running a trans cooler?

sounds like the transmission is slipping..

i've seen emergency brake cables hang before causing the rear brakes to stay engaged.
I had an old oldsmobile omega do that before.

I took it to my friends father who is a real good mechanic and he said it seems like its the stall converter. It will go up the rpms but it wont pull the car. But his friend who is a transmission expert is going to look at my trans this week and find out for sure. Its pretty built trans with transgo shift kit and it has a cooler less then a year old. It's a 3200 monster stall

the stall being messed up makes the most sense. GL with diagnoses. hopefully its just that.
