Default Should I keep the hotcam or move on?

I just got a set of LE1 heads with upgraded 2.0/1.56 valves and 918 behive springs that flow 269/189. I have the hotcam now and was thinking about a bigger better cam but also thinking about changing to 1.7 rockers giving the hotcam .558 lift. I have an a4 with a pretty much stock stall, Fuddle 3000 that only footbrakes to 2000 and 342 gears that wont get changed for a long time. Wondering how much power i would be leaving on the table over a custom grind vs the hotcam with 1.7 rockers?

the hot cam isn't that bad of a cam, it makes plenty of power everywhere and will act like stock with a bad a$$ lope. runs good for stock gears and stall

since your running nitrous you need a better cam to compliment the heads.

I think the added rockers will give you a couple more degrees of duration not a lot but something. And will give you more lift to take advantage of your heads. I think at the moment a larger stall,rockers, your heads (.026 gaskets), some good drag radials and a few suspension pieces will really set you where you want to be.

Yes more can be gained from switching cams as far as power BUT even to take advantage of a larger cam you'll need a larger stall. Mise well take care of the critical parts and build the entire setup and prepare for a bigger bump stick down the road.

What are you wanting it to do, if its only gonna see the track once in a blue moon , the hot cam will be fine.

nowadays the hotcam is considered pretty tame, it all depends on your goals/habits with the car

Its just a play toy, Dosnt get driven much at all mostly racing. The next time the stall will be upgraded is when the a4 dies and then it will most likely get a th350. It does Flash to 3000 on the bottle so I guess thats A fuddle 3,000 stall lol.

Well if you're wanting the most power or the best performance out of the car there is definately a lot left on the table in the cam department
