Default Signal light problem :/

Hey I got a 96 Z28 Auto.

and for some reason today my signalers are not working right. When I signal they just stay on, they do not flash on off on off, they just stay on exactly like if they were headlights . But when I put on my hazards on, they do flash on off on off.

What could cause this and is it an easy fix?

Thanks,
Kag

i know the hazards and turn signals are on different circuits. I believe your flasher needs to be replaced

Your flasher is fine. It's the bulbs that need to be replaced.

Hmm well they all (front and rear) light up when signalling but don't blink and they all flash when I put on the hazards. They seem to work normally, none of them are out.

Was one of your bulbs broken/dead, and did it affect both your left and right turning signals?

Would this be a fuse in the relay box that I would need to replace?

I'd still replace the bulbs. This is a common problem with f-bodies.

From what you describe, I'd try the flasher, first. A lot easier than changing all the bulbs.

Same thing happened to me. I replaced the flasher and all the bulbs, and that did not fix the problem. It ended up being the ground connection in the front sockets. Go to the parts store and buy two new pigtails, cut your old ones off, crimp the new ones on. I would almost bet money that will fix your problem.

LOL i had this happen before and swore up and down that all my bulbs were fine. I used to manually click my turn signal up and down. I tried the flasher and that didnt fix it. The bulb was bad, i replaced it and all was fine.

I am too. I am having a problem with my right side signal. When I flip it on one bulb goes out and the other goes bright, and on the left side they both go bright. I've tried all new bulbs, but I was wondering if the flasher could have anything to do with it.

Sorry for the thread jack! haha

Thats alright, I noticed on mine tonight that only one goes bright and the other one goes out. It does what you said for me on both taillights.

I wouldn't mind as much if they both did the same thing, but it bothers me to know that there is one that is flashing the right way, and one that is not. lol

So what do I do with the flasher? I replaced all the bulbs on one of my tail lights to test it out if it would fix it on that taillight but it didn't.

Now what would I need to do to the turn signal flasher to get it working.
