Default AI TFS 215cc on stock shortblock

I am considering switching my current eric bradby ported heads and joe overton cam over to an AI setup. Has anyone ever ran the TFS on the stock shortblock? In the future I would like to run the TFS on a 383.

with a decent size solid roller and those heads should make a stock short block run like a scared dog

the valve reliefs in the stock pistons might not clear the bigger valves in those heads. check with AI first.

215cc intakes are on the large side for a 7000 RPM limited 350".
Do you have an LS1 or standalone PCM?
You might be building a dyno queen there.

Ole T/A LT1 ran some LE ported Trickflows with a CC306 and ran low 11's and high 9's [juice]with a 355. Should work alright.

215 cc intakes? What kind of air? You might get away with ports that big in some killer air, like at tracks like ATCO, but they fall off badly in the heat. Low elevens or nines with a baby bottle is not all that fast anyway. Why would anybody use a CC306 cam? That cam is a poor choice for most applications. Too much exhaust lobe for a 230 deg intake.

I'de be just as worried killing the compression with those heads as the runner sizes. Awhile ago I also went from ~180cc heads to 218cc heads and supposidly gained 40+cfm, but I didn't gain anything at all at the track, so I would have to agree that those runners are probably too big for a stock shortblock car.

How do you like those EB heads? I just got a used set for my stock short-block build with custom LE cam, do you have any times or numbers with those?

Yeah I like them. They flow pretty good, something in the high 270's. I haven't gotten a chance to try it out at the track yet but it put it down 400rwhp and like 365 tq with a joe o 234/242 cam.

Sounds like a whole lot of mismatching going on. You're not even in the right ballpark. The combination is what matters, not "will these heads work." That type of thinking doesn't get you very far.

The smallest chamber size I have seen on the AI Trickflows is 60cc and that's really milling them. You can take the stock casting AI 200cc heads down the 52cc.

That is what I was trying to get across. But you have to argue with guys that "I heard..." or whatever.

Just because you or I have something like that and have tried it, raced it, means nothing on internet message boards. Too many keyboard experts that have never built anything fast in their lives. Yet know they everything.

The untouched trickflows I'm using are 62cc. Not sure how much you can mill them. The site says 58-62cc.

The blueprint spec from GM is 51.9 cc for stock LT1 chambers. Be kinda hard to get there, right?

and on another serious note to those guys above....those flow numbers mean alot but they dont mean everything.....thats a long explination but just keep that in mind.....its a measure of quantity of airflow not quality ;-)

The stock TFS and the TFS AI's are the same 62cc's. Mine are 60's every .0055 you cut off of them is around 1cc roughly. It doesn't take much to chop them down to 58 or so.
