Default lt1 motor woes

well im putting my shortblock together and i have run into two issues.. one.. i had to get another piston due to one being cracked.. well it came with a rod as well.. i went to install it and the big end is to wide to properly fit onto the crank shaft.. when i torque'd it down the crank wont spin over.. can i have this rod machined to be thinner or do i need to put the new piston back on my old rod? the rods came from another lt1.. i thought they were all interchangable..anyone have any input on this??

second.. i have a set of 1.6 harland sharp rocker arms that scrape the bottom on the rocker arms on stud.. is there any way to remedy this? should i modify the rocker to clear? it is just takinng the paint of the rocker but i dont like that it hits... do they make a stud with a little fatter base on it? this is the kit that i have now.. and these are the rockers

Have the new piston installed on your old rod.

i think i found my mistake..i actually mixed more pistons and rods than i thought and wound up with 3 rods that have the pistons on backwards.. so i have two that have the chamfered sides facing each other.. would that cause the clearance to be too tight?

yep
the chamfers go towards the radii on the rod journal..

you need to pull the rods and pistons back out and check them.. make sure you didnt bend the rods if you torqued the rodbolts..

I would suggest a competent shop build the motor.
