comparing a spec engine to these street engines is a waste of time, but the comparisons are very interesting. The devil is in the details, and the spec engine is not cheap!

Mike, I have been going through the same thing. My buddy needs a new parking brake assembly for his F-250. He just ordered the part today. I have a U-haul pick-up reserved just in case. Bringing her down on a u-haul trailer either way.

Gizmo-look forward to seeing what you put together for the shootout.

yea i hear you.....i talked to ati and they said the car would gain immensly with one of their tree master 8" converters with like a 5600 stall or so.....to me its not worth it though.......i wanted a NA car i could drive on the street......I'd rather go 10.40's and be on the street than go 10.10's and not be able to drive my car............idk just the way im looking at it

Mine is going in today. I will let you know what the difference is like. Going from a forward th350 with a loose 10" 5200stall to a reverse pattern th350 with a loose 8" 5000+stall. My builder said the car will pick up some ET just by losing the weight of the 10" vs the 8", most likely the "flywheel" effect. I guess the weight difference is substantial even in non-lockup converters.

yes keep me updated please.....id be really curious as to what it gains!!! on a good note Vigilante just realized that they screwed up on the stator in mine which is why it wasn't stalling like a 5000. Hey at least they stood up and admited it....gotta respect that right? They're fixing it and overnighting it to me so hopefully ill be tearing up the streets by wedensday night sometime.

I really don't understand it either. I have told SS RRR what he would have to pay someone to build a motor like this. He has a real problem with me. I just try to ignore him. As far as the comparison goes, I feel they are right. Pretty much any stroker on here should beat the turd out of my spec. motor. Keeping in mind that I only made 402 RWHP!

I don't believe I ever saw anything posted about the price break down of your engine. From what I've heard it can be extremely expensive. I have no problem with you. I sometimes read you make absurdly dumb comments and I call you out on them and you cry and then call mdacton asking a thousand questions. No problem!

He has said around 8 grand.

My engine was considerably more then that, and is not some trick racing piece. It was thrown together in my porch.

Continually stirring the pot and calling out someone who knows infinitely more then you do about making a car run quick does not make you look any better.

Don't have any interest in your setup. Could really care less. I sometimes wonder about what is known with statements like shaft mounts being the best choice for a mild cam. Does wearing his nuts like a pair of sunglasses make you look better?

It's none of your business! Damn. Get over it. It's expensive, he's already said it. Let it go. Christ.

It's OK, I forgive you.

I'd be pissed too if my solid roller, big *** 396 stroker only ran 12's.

Look on the bright side, there's always nitrous - then you can pretend to be fast and act like you know what you are talking about even more.

Some guy asked what was the best setup, not what was best for him. Yea he should go with some roller rockers for his setup, or use the search function.
