It is ill-advised to run ANY fluids from the engine bay into the interior compartment. The proper way to do it is to use an electronic pressure sender.

Autometer carries a ton of them. Jegs, Summit, site sponsors, etc.

Autometer alone makes about 30 different electric oil pressure gauges. Summit and Jegs both carry all of them.

That's what I'm saying. There are dozens available. Maybe you should refine your search techniques.

If you do decide to run a mech one, run it outside. Never run it fluids to the cockpit as others have said.

If you chose to run a mechanical gauge into the car, use steel braided line instead of the crap nylon line that comes with the gauge.

There's nothing wrong with a mechanical gauge, if you do run one, just be sure to run the line away from heat sharp edges, and where it can get pinched. A good trick to use is get the same amount of 1/4" vaccum hose and run it over the nylon line, this makes it more resestant to heat and sharp edges.

Problem with nylon line is if the oil gets too hot it can weaken nylon line to the point of starting to leak. A leak that can go unnoticed until you either have several quarts of oil on your floorboard or your engine dies.

I use these gauges on a roof pillar. They change to all kinds of pretty colors LOL. Not a bad deal, they look good and they work.

Whats all this talk about nylon line? That stuffs garbage. Use the copper tubing instead. I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge in my car (hvac panel) I see no issues doing this fuel I can see, but I feel a oil pressure gauge is safe to run inside the car. and I like having a mechanical gauge I dunno why just do. Anyways if you do go mechanical use the copper tubing instead of nylon, plus nylon tubing isn't allowed @ the track (NHRA Rules) Although I'm sure most tech guys won't look at that.

I want to get an electric oil pressure gauge but have never installed them before...how do you attach the wire from the gauge to the oil pressure sensor behind the intake??
