Default Tell Dart to build the big bore LTx block!

Time to rally big support once again for the big bore LTx block! Not everyone can afford a new LSx/Tranny/PCM w/ harness. The LTx block is a better alternative!

3.90" bore LS1s make more hp cam-only than 99% of "all-out" LTx builds. Save your breath and money.

Exactly. Only way to have this done is if there is profit behind it. Those who want this block are too far into the minority for the cost to justify the means. This has been explained over and over again.

FWIW I'd be into a LTx Block Immediatly!!!! I got my check book out as we speak lol.....I'd love to take my motor and bring the bore out to 4.125 w/ the same stroke.......hell just putting all my stuff in a stronger block would prob make another 10-15hp

Like someone said on another forum, maybe we could petition World to build one.

Im with you guys, IF someone made it I would be waiting in line with a wad of cash. But, as has already been stated in this thread there just isnt the demand to warrant the ammount of R&D it would take to produce the block and bottom line if the company cant make money off of it, it wont be made.

i dont see how there would be much r&d at all. just base the block off one of their existing 1 piece sbc blocks and modify the front.

posted to the thread again.

Too bad this was killed off.

Not sure who remembers back when this was going down the first time but there was one of the 10+ big bore GM LT blocks for sale on ebay...sold for ~$2500 I think...I would have been all over that more if I knew this was going to fall through so quickly!

Now back to building the block currenlty sitting on my garage floor.

modify the front for the opti and cam driven water pump and revise the coolant passages. Sounds like quite a bit of work to me. plus as mentioned now they will need to make all new tooling to cast the block

I totally remember... I would have won that auction if it had the smaller bearing diameter. I had my credit card ready to slap down through paypal and I stretched my jaw to get ready for the wife punching me in the face when and if I had bought it. Unfortunately the bigger journals werent as good for 8000+ rpms.

I had a block in the works and the program caps got messed up. I would have bought the ltx block from dart in a heartbeat and I had no choice but to go with another LTX core again.

Seriously... anyone tell dart how many LTX motors are built and sold on ebay etc? some shoppes cant stop pumping out shortblocks I wont name any names.

Link me some cam only LS cars making 478.8 rwhp @ 7700 rpm and 458 rwtq @ 5800 rpm on a Mustang dyno. Or I guess i fall in that 1%....

it is possible trust me.......**** my ls2 gto with headers, exhaust, tune, FAST 90 and a CAI made 388 at the wheels and AI thinks they can make 430ish with a cam swap....yes i know its an ls2 lol

but as for that dyno crap, half of it I dont even listen to......dyno is a tuning tool only.......every one seems to read different...and everybody make a huge deal out of dyno numbers......i dont buy any of it...if the car puts up the numbers on the track then i beleive it.....ive seen too many "500rwhp" cars going 12.0 @ 115 lol
