Default Track outing: 1/8th mile bolt on LT1, times seem fair?

Went to the Local 1/8th mile a couple night ago and was pleased for my new best, but wondering if these times are alright?

Best of the night was:

.2176 reaction
2.1879 60'
5.8253 330'
8.8847 1/8 et
80.89 1/8 mph

Backed up with:

.2249 reaction
2.2050 60'
5.8873 330'
8.9633 1/8 et
80.50 1/8 mph

Clearly I can do better on the 60', finally figuring out how to launch the car (315 Sumitomo's with original clutch that is going out, not spinning at all).

Mod list:
K&N CAI
1LE Elbow
Ported Throttle Body
Airfoil
Pacesetter LTs
ORY
SLP Dual/Dual (factory SS catback)
NGK TR55s
MSD 8.5mm
Short Throw/C5R Delrin ****
160* Thermostat
TB Bypass

So basically Intake+longtubes and **** that doesn't really do anything.

What about the mph? Is that decent for a bolt on LT1?
I would like to go to 1/4 on the 18th and shoot for some low 13's, but I can't help but feel like the mph is on the low side, especially for a M6.
Think that catback is holding me back?
I ran like 81.5ish mph best with 2.5" true duals that were catted and dumped with bullets if I remember correctly.
Stock tune as well, think its running a bit rich since it failed emissions with cats lol, or emissions **** isn't working (that is still on the car for some stupid reason!)

Looks to be about right to me. Get some sticky tires and get that 60ft in the 1.8x range

I ran .4 seconds faster and 2mph quicker with less mods. You could do better I think.

My A4 trapped that with a STALL, lts, tune. I'd say maybe your shifting needs work and you say your clutch is slipping.

And my A4 traps LOW (even for an A4) with that crappy stall.

Clutch slips sometimes but not horribly, really only when I'm rolling out.

If I powershift it'll slip.

But I bang gears like a **** as it sits lol, only time I lost traction was in the 1-2 shift haha...

I have an M6 with pretty much the same mods and I have just slightly better 1/8 ETs and traps. Mine are with 2.0ish 60's though. Runs 13.5-13.6 and 104-105mph in the 1/4.

Looks pretty good. Get the 60's down.

Not a bad time for your mods.. def get the clutch fixed and the times will improve. also, work on your launch style.. i mean find a good rpm you can hook at.

I would think the mph should be up a little more.

Same mods through an a4 and 3.23 I went an 8.49@83mph on a 2.0x 60' ran on out to a 13.19@103. I'd say yor catback is holding you back, I know my hooker catback was holding back a little when I had boltons.

What all is done to your car to trap 115.8 cam only in a stalled a4? I know it's lightweight being a hardtop/formula, but is there a decent amount of reduction you've also done? that's the high end of average M6 territory.

honestly, it doesnt look right at all to me... My best timeslip from last year was an 8.750 @79.07 with a 2.016 60'. I have many other 8.9 and 8.8 1/8ths.

All i had done was a converter, cut out, and on the 8.7 a LS1 lid. stock 3.23 gears and nitto 315's.

I guess the issue is the 60' but you already know that, to me something doesnt seem right if your only trapping 80.XX mph. Shouldnt it be close to like 82-84?

If you like the way the car sounds, Buy a manual cut out for 40$. See if it makes a difference.

You should probably look into a tune as well.

Of course id say look into new tires. Wider isnt always better, just remember that. Maybe a pair of quality BFG's out back would help. id say drag radials to if its not a DD, 275 ET streets.

I don't see an issue with the MPH. I have a couple time slips around with 2.18ish 60's and my 1/8 trap is just a bit higher.

He would need a solid 60' or a 1/4 mile run to be sure what it's capable of, but I don't see a reason to be concerned.

Yeah I wasn't too worried about the 60 foot or et, really just the MPH.

Tires are on there because they'll last forever and look good lol.

I'll get a cutout on the car and see how it helps.

I want to get it tuned but don't want to waste money before I get it cammed or something and have to retune...

Any other ideas?

Mail order tunes are pretty cheap, and an update tune is usually even cheaper. If you get your own cable it can be really cheap.

That seems a bit slow to me for you mods. I had the same mods with an auto and 4.11 gears but i had mine tuned and my best was a 8.32 at 85 mph, but that was also with a 1.85 60 ft. You have alot to gain by getting the 60 quicker.

weather and elevation effect mph big time. i have gone from anywhere between 103mph to 109mph in the 1/4 mile with the same exact mods at the same exact track. dont look too much into 2 or 3 mph

I don't know where to find DA but it was North Star Dragway (Denton) so I can't imagine it being bad at all, was pretty cool as well, maybe 60 degrees?

Other than the back seats and cat back (because I sold it) and drag lites, that's it...

And it's an A3 (non lockup obviously). The converter is stupid-efficient for a 2.5 STR. only lost 20rwhp/25rwtq going from a 6spd(345/350) to this th350 (325/325)setup.

talk to Andre at Edge racing, he'll hook you up.

there are better times with more seat time. Small mods, a maybe some weightloss.

60 ft is the issue.
