lt1 overheating

lt1 overheating so i replaced my head gaskets,new coolant temp sensors,coolant flush,bled the system but car is still overheating when being driven for about 20 min...might i add it has a new thermostat

did you check the waterpump. i had a jeep that wouldnt blow hot air in the winter and since i didnt drive it very far never overheated until one day i drove it an hour away and it overheated and threw a rod bearing. just a thought. and why did you replace the head gaskets? were they leaking?

i forgot to add i have a new water pump and the fans are kicking on also...my gauge went all the way to the red and i shut off my car and minutes later i went back outside and saw that it leaked coolant...maybe my radiator

Sounds like you bled the system wrong, when bled it, did you open both the steam pipe line and the little one from the thermostat? If you opened up the steampipe line then the heads won't be able to breath. I had the same problem awhile ago and once I bled it the proper way it has been great ever since. There are a couple of overheating issue threads on here that have the whole breakdown of how to do it. Even with my fans on it would overheat and I ended up blowing out my Driverside headgasket, I found out the hardway!

It sounds silly but is it the original radiator cap? if the cap doesn't seal properly it will flow back into the over flow. Also did you put the return and the overflow on correctly over flow should go to the top and the return just under it... Very easy to switch!

well i havent really did anymore checking on my car but this morning i put a lil coolant in the reservoir without the car being on and it started to leak a lil at the bottom by where the battery is ill take a better look at it on the weekend when i have more time
+1 on this. I had the same problem after putting a new radiator in about 6 years ago. The hose to the overflow should be the top hose coming off the radiator. If yours is boiling out of the overflow, I would be willing to bet this is your culprit, because that is what mine did,

correction to that the relay was not on right...well i bled the system again and it still had some air....but as i was driving it for like 45 min my check engine light came on and car started to get hot again the codes it gave me are p0172 and p0175
