Default modifying a injector rail for 900hp

the rails look to be pritty big already- Im doing a 900hp e85 turbo build and was wondering if I could just swap the stock lines on the back with some -8 fittings?

The rails are plenty at that level. But yes, the lines on the back and connecting together should be at least -8 feed -6 return

You need more fuel with E85

I have a hard time believing a stock fuel rail designed for 275HP can support 900HP, ESPECIALLY with E85.

What intake manifold are you running?

Mine, stock rails with -10 Feed & -8 Return, 722 RWHP so whats that at the crank, close to 800? Not quite 900 but I had no fuel delivery problems..

I run a single -10 into dual -8. I only have -6 returns out the back, into a single -8 back to the tank. I'll snap a pic in a few, it cost me 60 plus 10 bucks in weld-on fittings to do the rails, that included welding up the crossover holes, machining, etc.

Here ya go, I do all my stuff in aeroquip pushloc. It's great with E85, and its relatively affordable.

Even with E85 it should still be enough. Our sponsors sell 2000+hp kits and it still uses the same stock rails but larger inlets/outlet.

heres what i ended up doing- Cut the cross over in half and silver soldered -6 fittings on. Going to loop them back toward the firewall to a aeromotive regulator. Hopefully i can find some nice clamps to hold the lines to the rails. I still need to weld the -8 bungs on the end of the stock rails

looks good, I think you should be fine at that power level. Next step is a big pump and big injectors

ive got a brand new a1000 and speed controller so im going to run it and when i run out of fuel ill just buy another and run two of them. My buddy has some bosch 160s but i need to research if i need high or low impedence injectors for an ls1 pcm

There is an Impala that based on the 1/4 mile performance I am sure of is solidly over 900rwhp. Has the stock aluminum rails plumbed separate AN.
Thing is a pig, has the AC and all yet and last I heard he said he was approaching 160mph in the quarter. Launches soft though.

I just mention it because it is a case where I know a car is making at least as much power as the OP is aiming for, yes it is pump gas not E85 but I believe it is currently WAY over the 900hp mark just having a hard time putting it down.

I would have to think you were pushing the limits of the stock lines at that. By the time you figure the big losses of the TH400 you probably were approaching 3 times stock power at the crank so still a good testament to the stock plumbing.

I would think even with using E85 a properly modified stock fuel rail should support upto 1200rwhp.

Here is a picture of my setup. I have a -8 from my regulator to a y block, then -6 to bung welded to the back of each fuel rail. I left the crossover tube installed, to make sure pressure to each rail stays equal.

i got a set of fuel rails for sale already done......-6 fittings welded into each rail in the back and a -6 return in the front.......all polished up nice nice and work great i ran them for 3 years untill i switched to my single plane.......

yea, im guessing it was bout 800-850 at the motor

The return is off the regulator (Bottom right of picture). Been working just fine for the last 4 years.
