How big of a throttle body would i need for the 383 h/c motor i am building? It should put out around 500hp at the crank.

I would just go with a nice 58mm. That should give you plenty room to grow if you plan to make more power later.

Could i get away with a 52mm? My buddy said he would give me his AS&M 52mm for $100. Is that to small for my application?

i have a professional products 58mm i just put on my car, i could've sworn my had the hole in it maybe the previous owner modified it... i haven't had any idle issues with it, in fact i think my car idles BETTER now! but i know people do have problems, i guess i'm one of the lucky ones!


i still need to put my ported intake manifold on, but even on the stock manifold with 54mm ports the throttle body really woke my car up!! it's a lot more fun to drive now, accelerates much smoother and quicker, and even the exhaust sounds better!
