Ive had both brand new and still prefer the good old Lt1. I like the looks, the sound and the low end grunt of the LT much more. I also like the fact its so under rated compaired to LS cars. Is it better NO but I like it better and can make it run with 99% of the LS1 cars around.

Personally, LS1 > LT1 in every way (cars, engines, etc.) but everyone has their one beliefs.
The low end grunt of an LT1 is really exaggerated by the out of breath feeling up top (talking stock here). An LS1 makes more overall torque contrary to many people's belief. I wish I could find a stock LT1 dyno sheet, there are plenty of LS1s out there. It'd be interesting to see a dyno graph starting from idle to see the WHOLE curves.

My lt1 went 13.3@103.xx full weight with a B&B catback on a nitto. My LS1 couldnt do that with a catback only on a nitto. Ive had them both and raced them both for the last 15yrs and still like lt1s more. I also said the Lt1 is not the better engine just that I like it more.

IMO, LS1s are outdated as well now. The bigger bore LSXs are where it's at.

Pre '97 interior was nicer than LS1's IMO. I also think that LT1 SS front ends are better looking. But other than that, I personally think the LS1 is a better car all around. Everyone is entitled to their opinions though and as long as you like your car more than your old LS1, that's what matters.

new bone stock LS1 with long tubes through the stock catback, I went 13.1 @ 111 on street tires.....
my buddys old stalled auto, 3.42 geared 2000 Z28 went 12.0 @ 111 on a mt drag 245 drag radial with a online tune, long tubes and true duals.....and the car had 120k on it with the original motor.
my point is, just because you had a poor running LS1/ or driver error etc. doesnt mean all LS1's are equivalent to yours....just like with all the bad running LT1's out there, it doesnt mean ALL of them are like that...

The LS1 engine had:
- better heads
- better block
- better ignition
- better intake
- better air induction
- better PCM
- better/bigger injectors
If we're talking '93-'97 cars vs. the '98-'02 cars, the LS1 cars had:
- better brakes
- insert better PCM if more appropriate in this side
- better driveshaft
- better automatic trans
I don't think any of the above is even debateable.
Personally, I think the '93-'97 Camaro's specifically had:
- better front end looks particularly the head & fog lights (*Even though the sealed light fixtures themselves were grossly inferior in design/function lol) - line up an 98-02 Camaro with a Malibu from the same era on one side and a monte carlo on the other side and they look like inbred relatives.
- better speedo and dashboard/shifter layout
- better leather seats (before GM started to borrow that perfo-stich **** from the Firechickens)
Again, the above is my opinion and very debatable.
So, there really is NO debate that the LS1 engine and LS1 cars were better than the early 4th gen F-bodies (or Camaro's).
Us LT1 guys can say we "like" our cars better
