the LS1 driveshaft is a hollow aluminum tube with a tube of cardboard on the inside, hardly an improvement
didn't know there was any difference between the LS and LT 4L60e, thought they were geared the same.

whats your point? My LS1 went 13.6 @ 106 bone stock with a BLOWN cylinder.
new bone stock LS1 with long tubes through the stock catback, I went 13.1 @ 111 on street tires.....
my buddys old stalled auto, 3.42 geared 2000 Z28 went 12.0 @ 111 on a mt drag 245 drag radial with a online tune, long tubes and true duals.....and the car had 120k on it with the original motor.
my point is, just because you had a poor running LS1/ or driver error etc. doesnt mean all LS1's are equivalent to yours....just like with all the bad running LT1's out there, it doesnt mean ALL of them are like that...

How about you read what I said. LS1 is the better engine and yes some cars with the same engine run better than others, but ill say bring your bad *** ls1 to the same track as me and well see who can and cant drive. Ive also been doin this for a long long time and the average LS1 at the track isnt that impressive. Lastly my LS1 was an Auto doesnt take much skill to drive it. I sold it because it bored me.

put stock heads back on your car and compare apples to apples... Honestly I would expect a well built heads cam lt1 to be as fast or slightly faster than a cam only ls1... just sayin. Not tryin to start an argument or bash at all... both are dated technology and can go fast in the right hands.

LT1 engine < LS1 engine
LT1 car > LS1 car
As much as I'd love the power of the LS1, I can't get around the sound of the traditional SBC, coupled with the superior looks, I could never truly be happy with an LS1 f-body.
My vote is gen 1 swap or BBC swapped LT1 car. Formula.
But above all this... 3rd gens.
