Tune help?

Default Tune help?

I just got around to installing my PCMFORLESS tune this morning, and after I started the car I got the check engine light and it was idling about 2000rpm. Also notice that the exhaust was really white, and trying to drive was a bit hard cause it would big down around 4000rpm.

I have a 1993 TA. any suggestions?

EDIT: spent another morning outside Doing it under a microscope and managed to get it working. The car feels good now, and I'm happy with this tune! Thanks!

Not at all uncommon from them. Worst LT1 tuning anyone could possibly use IMO.

Call and request that they give you what you paid for. A tune

Do you still have the 93 ecm and harness in the car? For a 93 all you have to do is short 2 pins in the diagnostics port and it will flash the check engine light in codes to give you trouble codes. I don't know which ones but I am possitive there is info on the web on how to do it. PCMs for less in one of the few who do proms. I used madtuner. He can proms as well. If you have problems I would check the codes first and see what it says and also check your fuel pressure. Checking the fuel pressure on these cars is kinda like getting your blood pressure taken. It may have nothing to do with your illness but they check it anyway. lol anyway once you check the codes I would call them and see what they say unless the codes show you something else is wrong.

There are two addresses for pcmforless, the one you need is Moorseville,NC. Contact Alvin: You have no list of mods, stock, bolt-ons, cam ? I've run his bolt-on tune 7 years and have no complaints. He later corrected my a/f ratio once after a mod or two. I've run a best of 12.82 @ 3900 lbs.

top 2 pine on the right side are the pins u use to get the codes to flash at u use a paper clip to jump them the check engine light will flash a code 12 at you 3 times then what ever your throughing a code for

They seemed to tune mine just fine. I've used them half a dozen times over the past 10 years.

I'm not doubting their work, as I said, a lot of members here recommended them. It was done by Alvin I believe. I am just wondering if there is something else I need to do? It's a 93. Do I need to unplug the battery? let it run for a while longer? adjust the tps? adjust the iac? i am not sure.. i was just hoping i can plug it in and have it work

was it a piggy back chip or the whole module?
If its a piggy back unhook the battery and verify the instalation of the piggyback.

Ya shorting the two upper left terminals of the ALDL connector , turn the key to on -no start, and count the flashes, it will repeat the flashes 3 times.

Was it running fine before the tune and why did you have it tuned? What MODS do you have on the car?

Disconnect the battery and check the installation again like stated above. This will also reset any codes. It will take a bit sometimes to re-learn certain perimeters.

It sounds like you didn't install the piggy back chip with the stock chip or you did it in thr wrong orientation. That exact same thing happens when you only install the piggy back chip and not it with the stock chip. Check the little install sheet that was sent with it.

Hi Alvin!

Thanks for the suggestion, and the tune. I am very eager to try it out. I was just about to go outside and try again. I actually followed the direction precisely, made sure it looked like the diagram and read everything on your website. I double checked and triple checked your site to make sure there was nothing I was missing.

So, it turns out that one of the end pins on the main computer board was off by a hair so piggy back chip looked like it was in but wasn't, and after bending it to fit better everything was fine.

Thanks Alvin and everyone else here! I am happy with this tune!
