Default need info on data logging my 95 z28

okay guys i just went from 2.73s to 3.42s and now i need a tune. But i am having a couple other problems and i cant figure them out.

I am having a big problem with the transmission shifting from second into third and then immediately shifting into 4th without pulling through third. this was happening before i did the gears swap.

and now after the gears im not sure its pulling all the way through 1st at WOT. it feels like its getting into second a little early.

now i did get a tune from madtuner when i did the upgraded trans and stall converter, long tubes, full exhaust. but i didn't notice any real difference.

So now im not sure how to fix these problems but a couple people keep telling me i need to datalog it and have my tuner look through it and find the problems.

But i dont know what i will need to datalog my car. anyone know?

sorry for the long read. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an ALDL cable? if so downloawd TSS data master. Install it lofg the car and send the file to Ion and have him look at it.

If you didn't tune for the gear changes, the PCM is reading incorrect values for speed.

The PCM uses mph and rpm to determine when it shifts. Since your mph is off, your PCM is off.

You don't need to datalog. You need a new tune. Buy a cable for tuning and download winflash. Pull your bin file from it and email it to someone who can plug in your new values and email it back to you.

i know i need to tune for the gear change. but the problem with 3rd was happening BEFORE i did the gears.

Now the problem with 1st just started after the gears so im pretty sure that one will be fixed with the tune.

you have all kinds of problems. you need to data log it so you can make sure the tune is right. doing a gear sway while already haveing a shift issue was not the best idea, you just added more problems to figure out. How do you even know your first tune was good?

Yea i know i should have figured out the problem before i did the gear change. thats my fault but it was the only time i had to do them so i did.

and no im not sure that the original tune i got from madtuner was right. and im actually pretty sure that it wasn't right because thats when i started having the shifting problems. But i wasn't sure because i was having transmission problems at the same time.

was the key turned forward?

Now its making more sence to me, you got a retune and you started having shifting problems. You then changed the gears and now are having issues in 1st and 3rd. Im sure the pcm has no idea whats going on now since the programming is so far off now with all the changes.

Lets go to the problem now datamaster, hook the ALDL cable to Lap and car.
Open datamaster program, Turn the key forward right before it turns over.
Click the Record ALDL from the file menu, this will prompt a message to pop up saying you have so many records left, click OK. A 2nd pop up window will be under the first message. On the 2nd pop up will have a com selction you need to pick witch COM your USB cable is plugged into. After that there is a white strip in the middle of the pop up that you can type into, this is where you MUST name a file before it will let you start logging anything. Also make sure you have the correct car and tranny picked as well. Then you should be ready to go.
