Default Valve job and port & polish stock

Are these heads really that pour with flow? I don't hear many people doining so. Why not? If they were cast heads sure. Figure this would be more inexpensive. Just wondering.

i dont quite understand what ur asking lol......but if ur asking if stock heads have the capability to be ported and flow great check this out......

http://advancedinduction.com/AiProductsLT1.html

stock heads have the capability to make high 500hp levels...........aftermarket ported castings such as the AI Trick Flows I'm running have the capability to make well in excess of 600hp....with supporting valvetrain and mods

What do you think is the draw back from just improving these heads instead of going with some already done by say Trick Flow? Meaning design flaws? or just cheaper? This is just more of me being curious than seeking details for reserch. This is my daily driver and ideally I'm not seeking to be over 430hp....of course I say that now! We know thats never done.

I dont really understand what your asking I guess. The link I put and the other guy put is to have your STOCK heads worked over. I say there is no draw back cause its what a lot of people on here do including myself. port and polish the stock heads that came on our cars

The aftermarket heads have better castings but usually require porting to match ported stock head numbers. My Darts had a better casting, but didn't flow what a wanted till they were opened up, I'm on a 180 casting so they are a little on the small side. The intake valve is a 2.02 probably a bit big for what I need, but they flow alright. As far as prices I had the Darts ported twice, so 2500 for the heads and the work. Not really the cheapest way, but it will be a bit more than you would need for 430.

In the right hands, stock ported castings perform BETTER than many as-cast aftermarket heads.

I wasn't saying it would work but the thought of dual overhead cams on a
small block makes me pee a little.
