ive been testing my car for weeks and i still cant figure out whats wrong with it. When i drive itll do perfect in first gear but either in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th it does this wierd bog thing where it just drops rpm's and wont accelerate fast at all like when your a gear or 2 above what you should be. If i floor it itll clear until i let up on the peddle again. It seems alot slower then it should be to. any ideas? its an auto btw

 

My car does something similar and I know it's a failing opti. Have you tried plugs, wires, air filter, etc?

Start with the basics and then move to the more challenging and expensive parts.

 

yeah so far ive done a fuel filter, new plugs, almost all new fluids, evap delete, etc.. but i did do a fuel pressure test today and it turnt out its only got 30psi idle

 

I had this problem once and it ended up being the EGR. If it's not the EGR then it's the opti spark like stated above.

 

is this a problem all the time or only if the car has been running for a while?

 

mine has about 50 psi.

Fuel pump should have 40~ psi at idle and 43~ psi at WOT.

definately a problem there.
