Default 396 Stroker build/UPDATE/Dyno tuned

Well a few friends and I made a trip to Mexico about 2 months ago. Just installed my new 315 M/T's, new LC-1 and installed my Purge for my nitrous. It was Goin be a GOOD NIGHT!
Well I beat all the cars I wanted to that night, BUT ended up with a nice little squeak... =(
Needless to say, I needed a new motor. Well the next week I drove to TX and picked me up another motor. =)

Picked up a 396 stroker shortblock completely FORGED at 12.0.1 on unmilled stock heads!
Eagle crank
Lunati Rods
SRP Pistons -11cc
Callies 4 bolt splayed main caps

And I'm going with a Solid roller set up that original went with the motor.
Cam Motion 255/263 and the lift is somewhere north of +.650"

My heads will be holding me back as I'm going with a fully ported 364 with 2.02/1.60's, but they'll do for now.

I'll add pics and vids next time I'm at comp.
The rest of the build will take some time considering I spent ALL my cash on the shortblock, but it'll get there lol

I didn't think Edelbrock made crankshafts. Might want to check on that...

What ported heads do you have?

IMO that combo needs more head then a stock casting, but it will still be fun.

What computer setup will you be running?

I'm looking forward to seeing this build, should be nice. Glad you made it back from Mexico..lol. One of my older brothers went there in the late 80's with two of his best friends; one of those friends stayed there for an aditional 6 months. Dont go drinking and then pass out on the Mexican Side of the bridge with a pocket full of "stuff" lol.

Are there going to be any other upgrades?

Oh I DEF agree, I plan on some AFR's or something down the road but this will be a good start for me and my budget.
Goin be stock comp for now. Haven't REALLY looked into upgrading it. Any opinions?

Thanks, it was a long trip home lol.
Other than a complete build, no. Car will still be the 7.87 1/8th cam only set up.

I'm on a budget now so I will be running a crank trigger setup, and either Wickeds modded computer if he can pull it off, or an LS computer. Once you get some heads that breathe you'll really need the RPMs with a cam like that, even on a 396 .

If money wasn't an issue I would have a DFI or FAST with a standalone harness.

Yea, I agree. But once I get it all lined out. Doing a rear end next SO -7k rpm will have to do for now lol

It's coming together still. Not yet done with h/c change on my 350 and I just bought a forged 383 shortblock. So I'm not sure what I'm gonna end up doing at this moment. Nice to see ya stayin at it and it looks like it's gonna be a beast. It's nice gabbing at ya again, been a while. Maybe see ya at bowling green?

Ya, the build slowed down sometime last year but I expect to have it going by the end of next month
