from my hours of reading i would say in general, most people preffer to stay with the GM unit. locktite the rotor screws, silicon the cap, and do your best to keep it clean and dry and that should be your most reliable option

If you are taking it near 7k I don't think any opti will hold up for too long. I would look into a LTCC kit or better yet efi connection 24x. With the LTCC you will keep the opti, but you can do a few mods to it so that it will hold up better. I will be installing the LTCC ignition on my car soon with a modified MSD billet opti.

I was debating between Dynaspark,MSD,and the GM OPti. I went ahead and ordered the EFI24X conversion. I think it will be good in the long run.

Toss a summit opti on it and do not drive it hard; should be sold before opti falls apart.

Ton of research.... Chandler is supposed to be real good, but the GM has the best cam position sensor in it. If your not going to move to the LTCC one day, then I would go Chandler and save some cash. Either way LOC-TITE THE SET SCREWS!!!! I just found out the hard way that they can back out after less than 1 hour of use. There is nothing like tearing down a brand new build to replace an opti because the screws fell out and trashed the reluctor ring!

I'm currently running a Chandler opti. It's only been on the car for about 2000 miles, but it's still working perfectly. So, no complaints on Chandler. They ship quickly, as well.

Like everyone else said, make sure to loctite the screws, keep it dry and you'll be good.

Loctite the rotor screws, and put a nice bead of silicone around the joint between the cap and the body of the opti. Pay special attention to the gap around the electrical connector.

I got a Delphi from thepartsladi and it was DOA. Delphi wouldnt replace it and thepartsladi dissapeared, so I was SOL on that.

Replaced with an AC Delco and so far so good.
