you covered the holes in the low res portion?

curious if you fiddled with injector firing angle on the dyno as well and if it made any difference? my understanding was it is more a low rpm (idle/cruise) influence. injector size?

I did cover all holes in the reluctor wheel and exposed one of the interior, low resolution holes to act as my cam signal. I did not alter the injector firing angle or experiment with it in any way on the dyno. I am using 30 lb injectors.

Not sure if I understand the next to last question. Are you referring to the sequential tuning? If so, there was no tuning emphasis done for the idle since this is a race motor and getting it to start and idle cleanly is somewhat subjective. My car starts nearly instantly without using any throttle. You can lean through the window and start it quicker than my street car.

The sequential definitely helps at much higher RPMs than off idle. All the pulls were done from 5,000 to 7,000. We could see the effects of injector adjustments throughout the entire pull by the changes in O2 readings on each cylinder (or lack there of).

I know this is an older thread, but I have now ran my car at enough races to verify the track results match my dyno results, FWIW.

Not sure what would be typical, but this may give you an idea. This was the third round of class at Belle Rose during the Sports Nationals in March. This is C/SA, weighed 3300 lbs, and 1851' DA.

60' 1.296
330' 4.117
660' 6.512 102.07 mph
1000' 8.597
1320' 10.379 125.53 mph

Can you get it down to 3075lbs? That's the minimum weight for Mod N/A at the shootout! Your car would rock there.

I'm always amazed at how efficient you guys get your cars to launch and to use every ounce of power. I have you by 3mph on the top end, but you out 60-foot me by more than a tenth and out ET me by over 2 tenths. Time to get to work on my chassis, lol.

Thank you. Yes, I can get down to that weight. I can run A/SA which is a little lighter than that.

Ooops! I just read the rules on the LTX Shootout. It says I cannot run wheelie bars. That rules me out. I would ruin my car most likely.

Don't feel too bad Joelster. My 61 is so bad in the first 60' that he out ET's me by 6 tenths, but 4/10 of it is all in the 60'. LOL

If you really want to come I am sure that they can be talked into allowing the bars. This is really a fun race. I am sure that everyone would love having another dog in the hunt.

Thanks for posting up all that you have. You have got me back looking at stuff that I gave up on years ago. I guess the technology has come a long way from the GEN 6 DFI that I started with!

HAHAHAHHAHAH tell me about it..... I think pretty much all of the outlaw cars at the LTx shootouts (maybe except for Sikora) are gonna run bars. You could run Outlaw but that class is gonna range from a possible 7.90 car to 8.90's.... but you could get to see what other LTx owners are doing to push the limits of the LT block. Ive "only" run 9.06 but my car is getting a serious weight reduction from 3400 lbs to 3100 lbs. And we're swapping cams as well. Trying to run 8.60's...

I know that Quick95 was trying to get a poll going to allow wheelie bars in MOD NA.

General consensus was that they shouldn't be needed by most of the cars there...but most of those cars weren't doing 1.2x 60's either. When it becomes a safety issue I think it should start being discussed, and like stated the more people that show up the better.

What times generally win Mod NA????? Cause I wouldn't think those cars would really need bars.... My car acted perfectly fine on motor running mid 10's.....

as soon as we turned on the units car went from moderately fast to ******* wheelstanding outrageous and uncontrollable...

Mike had everyone covered last year. He was running 10.29-10.35ish. Keep in mind that it was an honest 95 degrees outside, no joke. I'd figure a top guy this year in some decent air will be a 9.90-10.00.

Hmmmm that's hauling the mail... I guess setup for MOD NA my car "Could" theoretically run in the 10.40 range..... after i get the weight down to 3100...

best i ever got it to go was a 10.62@128 but that was the first night out and the only time we really ran it without the bottle.... i guess if i was gonna set it up for NA i'd dump the 3.89's and run 4.56's....

After all this, I cannot believe I didn't notice the date. That is the same weekend as the US Nationals at Indy. I will be at Bowling Green the week before, but will miss the LTX due to Indy. The scheduling is why you won't see a lot of the fast LT1 stockers at the LTX event.

I am debating running the points race at Bowling Green this year to get a grade point. I hope to have my Camaro finished by then. If I do run it, I will be at Bowling Green three weekends in a row (NHRA, LTX Shootout, and LSX Shootout).

Maybe we could get some sort of purse going for you "stockers" to run! How much would it need to be? Have your car setup for whatever weight class in NHRA and run off of the index as your dial.

The purse is a good idea, but Indy is Indy. We are drawn to that race like moths to a flame. I think the schedule is the problem for stocker attendance more than anything.

Kyle that run that you gave the timeslip for was your run against Sam P. right. We teased him about that LT1 putting a whipping on his LS1. But you had a weird problem after the run am i correct? Header/opti/cam pin
