Default So what mods to do (budget)

So I am currently looking in to some mods to do in the next month but I cannot make up my mind there are a few choices but I am wondering what some of you exp owners would do. Budget is 1100

1)I am thinking of pacesetter LT with ewp and xpipe, sound system, optima battery

2)another route is ss hood and c6 z06 rims oem wheel

3)Another would be pacesetter
ewp
tq arm
tstat
hyper tech
top dash

4) tq converter

then after your first set of mods for this amount, what would u do after it with same amount like the next time around ?

1- torque converter
2- long tubes
3- lca relocation brkts
4- new lca's or box the stock lca's
5- a good set of rubber

In that order until the money runs out.

stay away from hypertech if at all possible.

What's your goals? Can't just throw a hodge podge of parts together and call it done. .......well you can but you wont be happy.

GO WITH the rims and hood ...............Summer is here get out there and drive it. Save the performance upgrades for winter.......

How much power / speed are you rreally gonna gain with a few minor bolt ons.....

But you can look real good real fast................

You might be able to buy the wheels, but you sure ain't gonna be able to buy wheels AND tires for $1100. I mean mine were like $1300 total. Tires ate up most of the money too.

yea thou speed inc is chargin 1200 for tq converter install , but I have a friend that may be able to help is it hard?

What tq converter good, my goals is to do ss clone but with c6 black rims, some sound , as for engine I want decent power to be able to beat friends c5 with just borla xhaust; until I figure out what I really want to do with engine Im thinkin ls1 spawp.
I already have straight pipes from stock exhaust mani that why I want headers and it has decent tires on the ss rims, I can wait for rims and hood.

Honestly it doesn't sound like you are ready to commit to a goal for your car. So just throw your money in an account that will save your money for you. Then when you decide where you want to be, you can do it.

Beating your friends c5 with exhaust is an easy fix. Spray it. 100 shot will had him his *** to 100 mph. Then you can decide what go do with the last 600$.

You want bang for buck? Save up and get a LS1 F Body, Bolt On LS1 will handle a H/C/I LT1. Just save it up man.

Honestly, buy the ebay headers. $300 get ss headers and a ss y-pipe and have your exhaust shop weld a nice muffler or bullet with a turn down at its tip. Then worry later about running tips later(camaros need turn downs).

Look on craigs list and ebay for lca's and tq arm. Don't rush. These are two parts that don't break so there is no need to not be patient and save $50thingsep is one of those things

Ewp is one of those things that are only for that last few hp and kind of a waste unless you are already replacing your water pump.

The rest of the money I would either save for the next round or use it to buy all the maintance items(plugs, wires, filters, fuel pump)

You have alot of things you can spend money on, but....if you use your head and make a realistic game plan you'll save a ton of money by not buying th same parts 4 times over like most folks do.

You really believe that? Wow. You sir are a nutswinging idiot. A hotcam only lt1 car will make the average bolt on ls1 car wonder if its really all that.

Before you go getting twisted though, ls1 cars are great......but if you think about it. A h/c/I ls1 (streetable cam ) will make ~460 rwhp. Same setup lt1 will see ~430 rwhp. So yea if you think that the extra 3k you spend on the ls1 to have 30 more rwhp then I think you have your wires crossed.

Truth is truth......stock to stock and cai/ exhaust vs cai/exhaust yes a ls1 will own it. But once you crack the valve covers all bets are off. Oh and ill even wager that if you take an ls1 and maim it by removing the factory 1.7 rockers and give it 1.5 like the lt1 you would see and very eerie result(lt1 ftw).

Ok. Im done.

Im with White Ghost. Watch the classifieds for used parts that you can get at a good deal. Things like suspension and exhaust go for cheap on here along with hoods and wheels. Whatever you can find can sway the way you start your build.

Do suspension, when the car can handle it is crazy fun without destroyin your reliability. Strano Springs, agx shocks and 32/19 bars.
