If yours still has the factory AC, then I am sure you probably have the fastest time. But for some reason I thought you had yanked your AC out.
It's already been mentioned that some F-bodies didn't come with A/C.

Are you suggesting that some cars need to add A/C to compete in your competition?

What I am looking for is no weight reduction done. If the car did not come from the factory with AC (like the 1LE cars), then that is fine given that no weight reduction was performed. I believe taners car had AC though, and he removed it (still waiting for him to say otherwise), which would not qualify for what I am looking for.

again why not just take the stock weight of the car and be at that or more??? would eliminate all this AC BS........weight is weight............

I am trying to find out the fastest quarter mile time for an LT1 F-body that no weight reduction has been performed on. If someone knows, it would help

What will not help is people trying to change the criterea because they don't understand why or for what reason I am asking it. I really am just trying to find the fastest time for the given criterea, not turn this into an argument thread.

It sounds like the fastest time should be in the 9-10 second range. Anyone know of any faster times than has been posted with no weight reduction done to the car?

If you are removing something from the car and not replacing it with something, then it would not fit the criterea I am looking for. If you are just relocating a battery to a different part of the car, then that is fine. Let's keep it simple.

I really think you guys are beating up the specifics. I am really looking for times here.

Can anyone help me out?

I finally had mine weighed in case anyone is wondering.

3340#, with driver 3510#.

Also, remember that each version of each LT1 car weighs differently. T/As are heavier than Z28s, convertibles are heavier than coupes, etc.

And everyone is trying to tell you your criteria is flawed, to run in the 10s and 9s you need a roll cage at the very least. That's already gonna add weight and it wont be "stock weight" any more. Then to make more then one pass your talking rebuilt tranny and new rear end, only adding more weight. So the car is no longer "stock weight" and doesn't fit your criteria.

The only way for your "stock" weight to work is to use the curb weight of the car stock, and then say, which car at this #lbs is the fastest.

I've now put .04 cents into this, and way over budget.

Again, you guys are killing me here. Stop reading into it so much!

What is the fastest time you have seen or heard of an LT1 F-body doing in the quarter mile that still had the full interior and AC (if it had AC from the factory)?

At this point of your thread, what makes you think you are going to get a plausible answer? Your question has too many variables. I'd abandon it.

Yea, dumbest question ever. I guarantee you can get a 100% stock appearing car with A/C down to 3200 with driver. I don't think that's anywhere close to full weight, do you? You can drop 150 lbs on the frontend with tubular everything and drag brakes, plus 20 more with the bumper support axe'd, plus 15 more cutting the fender metal that no one will ever be able to see. Another 20 pounds cutting out various metal from the interior that would all be covered with carpet, seats, or plastic panels. Bam, now we're down to a 3300 pound car. I'll bet no one would notice some rear speedglass, removed sound deadening from carpet, etc and there's another 70 pounds lost + jack and spare removed and you're down to 3200. Drag wheels all around + lightweight brakes out back, and a lightweight fiberglass SS hood and you're down to 3070. Lots of other little tricks to take out more hidden weight, but I don't care to post them.

Why is it only on ls1tech that I always seem to have to deal and explain with people? I have this same question asked on 3 different forums and this is the only one where there always seems to be people that won't just help you out and answer your thread.

Look if someone knows of a fast time like a few people posted early in this thread, please post it up. Otherwise I will probably unsubscribe to my own thread and just stop dealing with this forum that seems to consist of people who are more interested in arguments sake, than actually helping people.
