Glad to see you're doing good things with Jason's roller. Its one of the cleanest and nicest LT1 rollers around, period. Was sad when he sold it, but glad it ended up in good hands.

Looks like a nice combo.

Thanks! I had fallen in love with it when I first saw it in person a few years ago. When he said he was going to part it out I sent him a message asking how much for the roller. I couldn't get down there fast enough.

I can vouch for Jim also, he was the first guy to meet me when I moved back to IL 5yrs. ago and got my TA. Anytime I needed an extra hand he would drop everything to come over and help, so for anyone to say he was asking for handouts have no idea who he is.

Looks like it's coming along, Jim, keep up the good work!

And another story about Jim for you all...

A couple years back, during early spring, my brother was looking for an SS and we came across one on autotrader in chicago that looked super clean. It was a red '96 SS with 6x,xxx miles on it, leather, auto, chrome zr1's, etc. Anyways, there was still snow on the ground and my brother was at IU for school. He posted a thing on Z28.com asking if anyone around the chitown area would go check out the car for him, and guess who the guy was that volunteered? You guessed it, it was Jim. My brother called him or messaged him and told him what he wanted to know. Jim went over there, looked at the car, got it on a lift, took it for a drive, and reported back to us by that weekend. By Jim's description and knowing his knowledge my dad ended up buying the car, instead of my brother, not even seeing it or driving it in person, just taking the word of a trustworthy person. Jim never asked for anything in return for doing that favor for us. He's a stand up guy and is a great person to associate yourself with. I have never met him personally, but being around the forums and what he does for people shows his character.

BTW, I'm still upset with your son for getting rid of the 3rd Gen! Lol. Woulda been cooler than your old car.................just kidding man, but his roller he had was seriously a clean 3rd Gen. I remember when you posted pics of it when he first got it and when I still had my 3rd Gen...

I'll shoot you a PM on Z28 later today with a couple of questions!

Lol thanks man. I was happy to go look at that car for you guys.

Yeah that 3rd gen was mint. I personally thought he should have kept it cause finding one in that condition is few and far between. Car was locked in a container since 1999 and never saw day light. It all worked out in the end and Corey Clayton got his car back. I still remember going to go with my son to coreys shop to go get it. Told my son hey you got to see coreys old car sitting in this container. We opened it up and my sons jaw dropped. I said oh you like it? He said man that's a nice car. I said well its yours if you want it.... oh and there is a lt1 and trans in the shop with your name on it. He about passed out. Anyway, here is a pic of that car.......

Sweet project man, and I feel for your son. Im only 17 and every dime that goes into this car (including gas and insurance) comes out of my pocket. IMO its the right way to do it. There is nothing I hate more than a tough guy rolling up in a fast car built (or bought) with "daddy's money."

It was a 91 z. It was Corey claytons and he has it back. He is going to build a drag car to run in the radial class.

I am not a nitrous expert by any means but if i was gonna spray a 250 shot on a motor and i was building the motor around the bottle. i would not be using that cam. did you buy it second hand or did someone suggest it ?

what type of setup did they have? heads/ frame/ tranny/ weight/ how much nitrous and what kind of times did they run. the reason i ask is, that is almost backwards from a normal nitrous cam.

Almost the exact set up I am running although I am lighter and my internals are stronger. the car will see spray maybe twice a year if that. My builders who ran top fuel back in the 70's and set national records say its good to go so I will stick with it. I am also not letting all the cats out of the bag on my set up. Just the basics........

Yeah yeah I know. Sanding and filling makes a ton of dust in the engine bay. Kinda got out of control. It's gonna get lots of love soon then I am going to put my foot through the floor.
