Add A/c to a 1le lt1?

I ripped my AC out and put in pully because I bought the car and it did not work. Up here in Minnesota we just got a couple 90+ degree days and one 100 degree day and my black car just kept the windows rolled down. Windows are pretty much never up. (Hardly drive in the rain and garage in winter.) I love it. You'll live.

Wisconsin and Minnesota!?!! Lol Obviously you guys have never experienced Mobile, Al humidity. It's miserable. And if I didn't work at a hospital, I wouldn't mind showing up to work completely drenched in sweat

Of course it's not as warm in WI but it is very, very humid here. Trust me. Our state bird is the mosquito :p
That said I'm just a wimp when it comes to hot weather, I never have to wear a coat in winter though (not that I like winter).

Try the Houston area I was sitting out till 11 last night sweating my *** off

FL is ridiculous this year. On the weekends I've been out working on the car all day, sometimes til 2am and I'll look like I've been running a marathon. It's disgusting. Also my A/C only works so-so even though the pressure gauge claims I'm in the caution zone when I hook it up to the A/C line.

Pretty bad *** that you could get Koni DAs on a factory 4th gen.

I totally agree. I've driven mine for 2 yrs and i have no intentions of adding AC. i always drive with both of my windows down and if its super hot, i drive my DD instead. If your LS1 car has AC, then just drive that one on the 80 plus summer days.

Just think about trying to add the a/c coil part alone that is in the firewall next to the pcm??? That would be a nightmare job with the engine in the car. I debated pulling that out to save more weight and free up more room on mine since I deleted all other a/c stuff. I just left it go though, I figure if I sell it someone may want to add a/c back and with that part gone it would be way to difficult to the average guy.
Also, as mentioned, dont screw up a rare car. Keep it as it was meant to be, a/c free.

Exactly, the A/C in my formula hasn't worked since I got it 3 years ago, as long as the t-tops are off or at least the windows are down it's not so bad.

Ac is easy to install or Remove. Not like it is perminet and can never be changed. It seems like he is more interested in the low miles than the 1le factor. Not like he's adding a wide body and killing the car for good. If you change your mind I have everything you need. Good luck

I would love to see pics of the engine bay. I have always wondered what a non ac car looks like from the factory. I know they came with a single fan instead of dual, but I have never seen the HVAC setup.
